Remember, when Luffy got stabbed by Crocodile none of the strawhats even saw this happen, they were likely unaware of how badly this boy got folded, as when crocodile announced Luffy lost, he showed up perfectly fine

On sabaody, all of them got poofed before they saw what happened with luffy

In marineford, no crew was there to watch him have such a breakdown over Ace

And then, when Luffy got pushed off by kaito, nobody really saw how mutilated he got either, they kind of knew he "lost" until he showed up w/ gear 5

No matter HOW badly Luffy got hurt he never let it show to the crew, pretty much

This is the FIRST time (to my knowledge) where they've watched Luffy get humbled this badly, the crew morale is dropping to some DEPRESSING lows
