I don't think Light really get over his trauma in just 5 days as most people suggests.

One thing i find most wrong is that most fans say that Light got over his guilt in just 5 days. Which isn't true if he did, he wouldn't have lashed over being called evil. Which implies that he still wasn't over his guilt and he was still trying to rationalise at that time, that's why he reacted the way he did. The Lind L. Tailor Broadcast happened after 8 days when he got the Death Note.

There is also a panel in chapter 3 which took 4 days after the broadcast event and 12 days after he got the Death Note. This page in image 3 is also maybe kinda implying that Light is still struggling over his identity as Kira. Meaning he's slowly trying to recover from his guilt.

So, I don't think, Light didn't come out of or get over his guilt quickly, as people often say. It was a slow process.

He was still trying to suppress or trying to bury it across the story, whenever his family says especially his father says Kira is evil, he always seems hurt by their words.

And the reason there hasn't been much focus on this is because Ohba doesn't want to focus on Human drama, he was focused on plot. So that doesn't mean Ohba didn't intend to show Light's struggle, or that fans should disregard Light's feelings, Ohba still provided contexts about his feelings or thoughts. Which is pretty important for Light's characterization. It wasn't Ohba's intention to give Light just five days time to say he was always crazy or something. In fact Ohba thinks the opposite, saying Light was a good kid and was a victim of Death Note. Neither of these shows or implies that Ohba wanted Light to be portrayed as a person that was always crazy or insane.

Your opinions?

Edit:- image 2 was supposed to be placed in 1st and image 2 in second. I screwed up. So sorry about that.
