Main mod has gone inactive, I dont have full permissions

I agreed to be a backup mod for a subreddit a while back, just in the case of the main mod losing their account. The main mod took the sub private a little over a week ago but carried on approving posts and comments as normal, then suddenly stopped all activity and I only noticed when I realised there was a large queue of join requests. I dont have full permissions and am now the only active mod. There are other sub members who would be happy to join the mod team if I added them. What can we do from here. I dont want to remove the original mod in case they have had a personal emergency or something and return but I also dont want to continue moderating alone with limited permissions

Lake District Cheese Haul Part 2 (What came home)

Ended up constructing an ice pack cool bag situation because I had to bring the cheese home despite the 9 hour drive. More Trusmadoor, Red Storm mature red Leicester, Blaencathra, Darling Howe soft cheese and some extra treats in the background. Daughter has come back with a serious business plan to sell enough home made goat treats to purchase her own mini cow and start a home dairy

Staying in the village of Torpenhow, in the UK's Lake District

Pronounced Trepenna, meaning hill hill hill. The local dairy farm has an honesty box shop selling various cheeses and ice cream. Picked up these two this morning and the Trusmadoor has been a surprise hit. Its not going to last the evening at this rate. Never heard of it before. Like a more pungent Cheshire or Lancashire. Can see myself spending a ridiculous amount of money on cheese this week.

12 year old me possibly attempting to dress as a new romantic in 1992

I have no recollection of any part of this outfit other than the scarves in my hair. Possibly these are my aunty's clothes and boots.

First time disabled cruiser

After years of research I finally booked two cruises today. A mini 5 night to northern Europe this autumn and 7 nights to Spain next year. My biggest question is how do people manage shore excursions and travel with a mobility aid? A lot of the excursions seem to rely on coaches, or travel tips suggest grabbing an uber etc. I have 2 power wheelchairs that fold down and can go in most car boots, an ultra lightweight carbon fibre one thats best for flat surfaces and a somewhat heavier bulkier one that can cope off road better, and I have a walker rollator. I can manage a moderate day trip with the walker if the terrain is going to be impossible but obviously the wheelchairs make my life easier if we are going somewhere flat. How does this work out for people in practice? Do the coaches and shuttles usually have some provision for disabled guests? Will ubers and taxis let me put my folded chair in the boot or will I need to find a whelchair taxi? Is it best to just stick with cruise line excursions as a noob? I am a very experienced traveller but its become much harder in practical terms since my disability has got worse so a cruise seemed like an easier option.

Acrylic nails

How have any of you faired with acrylic nails? Its my beloved father's funeral in about 2 weeks, a lot of people are coming because he was a truly incredible person, and I am trying to look half decent which means my translucent nails that always look dirty are a problem.

Im sure many of you can relate that they are not only brittle and fragile but no nail polish will stay on at all and i have tried all the things. For my wedding I went to the most expensive salon in town and got I think shellac as that was recommended to me to be the most hard wearing. It was done the day before and chipped by the wedding night. The nails just flex and bend more than the paint does. So I got it into my head to try acrylics and maybe have a subtle tribute to the hitch hikers guide as thats what my sister and I were joking with my dad about as he passed, she had a dress on that has a link to it and its something we all shared so it would be a subtle tribute only we would get.

But will they stick to my fingernails or will I be throwing money away and then have to go and pay more to get the mess taken off? They will have to last most of a week between the latest I could get them done and the funeral date.

Experiences please!
