Changes to SSB at CSS

Had a fantastic time at CSS again recently, and went over to the SSB for the first time when it stops being au naturel at 6pm.

Oh, what we were missing out on! It was beautiful over there; sand was much better, good vibes from the public beach next door, and the facilities looked nice.

It seems a shame that it's locked behind au naturel - maybe it would be better becoming the main beach, and moving the au naturel side to, for example, the mineral pool area?

Failing that, it would be nice for there to be an open bar and grill for clothed people post 6pm, or making it close earlier. It might also help with integration, as we found the SSB'ers to be rather clique-y at the returners dinner!

Setting up staff social/wellbeing in a strict MAT school

Currently teach maths at a school in a large MAT in the south of England.

The school is very good with extremely clear behaviour policies. Follows the TLAC model so classroom practice is completely prescribed. Despite some upsides, many staff are feeling frustrated with several things - feeling watched, being directed at all times, very little downtime in half 8 to half 4 days, constant CPD, being treated like children, agonising lunch duties serving up the food and constant interventions for Yrs 10-11. The school constantly tells staff and students that they can always improve , but that doesn't seem to apply to how the school treats staff. They just parrot that we are 'sligtly under 1265' (due to longer holidays and short) and therefore it's all fine.

There is no union rep in the school, and the school and MAT have apparently been hostile to the idea in the past.

I was wondering what a good course of action might be to try and improve things. My question is whether anyone has experience with setting up a staff wellbeing or social group in their schools? There is no social life for staff currently and I feel that might be a good start and a way to 'Trojan Horse' a wellbeing committee or something similar for staff.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!
