Need recommendations for the best hospital in Kochi for rectal cancer treatment + approximate cost

I’m looking for genuine recommendations from people who have personally dealt with cancer treatment in Kochi, especially rectal/colorectal cancer.

My father is 66 years old and has recently been diagnosed with poorly differentiated rectal adenocarcinoma with signet-ring cells and extracellular mucin.

His CT findings have raised concerns about locally advanced disease (possible T4 involvement), threatened mesorectal fascia, EMVI and possible para-aortic lymph-node involvement. We are currently waiting for/going through PET-CT staging.

We are currently considering:
● Aster Medcity
● VPS Lakeshore
● Apollo Adlux
● Lisie Hospital

He has already undergone his biopsy and initial investigations at Lakeshore, so they already have most of his records.

What I’m trying to understand is:

  1. Which hospital would you recommend for this type of complex rectal cancer?
  2. Which hospital has the best GI/colorectal cancer team, particularly for locally advanced rectal cancer?
  3. Any recommendations for a good colorectal/oncology surgeon and medical oncologist?
  4. How was your experience with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery at these hospitals?
  5. Has anyone gone through TNT/neoadjuvant chemotherapy + radiation followed by surgery there?
  6. How much did the overall treatment cost approximately?
    ● PET-CT / staging
    ● Chemotherapy
    ● Radiation
    ● Surgery
    ● Hospital stay
    ● Medicines/other expenses
  7. How good is the hospital with cashless insurance/MEDISEP, particularly for cancer treatment?
  8. Were there any unexpected expenses or problems with insurance approvals?
  9. If you had to choose again, which hospital would you choose and why?

I’m particularly interested in first-hand experiences, not just general Google reviews.
If possible, please mention:
● Hospital
● Type/stage of cancer
● Treatment received
● Approximate total cost
● Whether insurance was used
● Your overall experience

I understand that every cancer case is different and that costs vary considerably depending on the treatment plan. I’m mainly trying to get a realistic idea of where to take my father and what kind of financial commitment we should prepare for.

Any advice, experiences or doctor recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out a reliable power backup solution for my home internet setup and could use some advice.

Currently I have:

Jio Fiber connection (ONT/router)

TP-Link Deco X20 mesh system (2 units)

The problem is that during power cuts, everything goes down and I lose internet completely. I’d like to keep at least the main router + one Deco unit running so I still have WiFi.
