Making an already bad traffic situation even worse[OC]

So this happened at Thrikkakara temple junction today at noon. Most people were patiently following lane traffic despite the gridlock there and then comes these “kuthikettal teams” worsening the already bad situation.

Anyone suffering with endometriosis here? Would like to hear from women who have endometriosis in Kochi.

Would like to know how you are handling it. How were you diagnosed? Which doctor are you consulting? Have you seen a specialist? Is your doctor helpful?

I personally just feel alone dealing with it, so I thought I would ask others about it.

Can you survive in Kochi on a ₹30k salary while renting?

I’m a woman in my mid-20s and I’m thinking of moving out. I’m looking at a 1BHK around Panampilly/Kadavanthra, or maybe a 2BHK with a roommate.

I’d ideally like somewhere safe and chill, with easy access to basic things like a gym, supermarket, pharmacy, etc. I’d also prefer a place where the landlords/other tenants are relatively chill.

I earn around ₹30k/month and I’m honestly a bit of a spender, so I know living alone on this salary will be a challenge. But I really want to see if I can make it work and still save at least a little.

For anyone living around this area, what does your monthly budget look like, and do you think ₹30k is realistically enough? Also, if you know any decent areas/buildings to look at, please let me know!

Basically, am I being unrealistic or can a girl make this work?

Where is the Ekart hub (ErnakulamHub_COK) located?

Does anyone know where the Ekart hub ErnakulamHub_COK is?

The order is from Flipkart, and after reading the reviews about Ekart in Kochi, I’m planning to collect the package directly if I can get the location.

Two female cats up for adoption: Kochi, Kerala

✅Vaccinated
✅Litter trained
🐈Indoor cats
🐈‍⬛ Age: 1.8 years
📞Contact no: 9995712626
📍Location: Kochi, Kerala

I have two 1.5-year-old female cats, Peaches and Miso. They are vaccinated, litter trained, healthy, and well cared for.

Unfortunately, due to my current family situation, I’m no longer able to keep them at home permanently. My parents are strongly against having them here, and it has become increasingly difficult to keep them at home.

I love them very much and want to make sure they go to safe and loving homes. I am able to keep them for a little longer while a suitable home is found, so I’m reaching out to ask if anyone is willing to adopt them or help me rehome them.

I would really appreciate any kind of assistance or information to get them to a loving home.

Thank you.

Let’s be change-makers: Give delivery riders a designated parking spot at Lulu Mall

Posting this again as the first one got removed because of the image

I’ve noticed something at LuLu Mall that I feel we should talk about.

Swiggy and Zomato delivery riders aren’t allowed to take their bikes inside the mall premises. They have to park somewhere outside and walk for 10+ minutes to reach the food court, collect the order, and then walk all the way back.

That can easily mean 20+ minutes spent just going in and out for a single delivery.

These riders are working under time pressure, often in the heat and rain, trying to complete deliveries and earn their livelihood. Is there really no better solution?

I’m not asking LuLu Mall to compromise on security or pedestrian safety. Why not allot a small, designated parking/collection area specifically for food-delivery riders somewhere closer to the mall/service entrance? Security checks can still be maintained.

LuLu Mall is one of the most prominent malls in Kerala. I’d love to see the same world-class standards reflected in how we treat the people who help make our everyday lives more convenient.

Dear Redditors, let’s be change-makers.

Instead of only discussing this here, let’s collectively write to LuLu Mall management and request a practical solution.

If enough of us send a polite email, maybe it will reach the right people and encourage them to look into this.

Emails to:

📧 yusuffma@ae.lulumea.com
📧 care@luluindia.com
📧 helpdeskkochi@lulumall.in

Copy-paste email and send:

Subject: Request for Dedicated Parking/Access for Food Delivery Riders at LuLu Mall Kochi

Dear LuLu Mall Management,

I would like to bring to your attention the difficulty faced by Swiggy and Zomato delivery riders at LuLu Mall Kochi.

Currently, riders have to park their bikes away from the mall and walk for more than 10 minutes to reach the food court, collect the order, and walk back. This can add 20+ minutes to a single delivery, creating unnecessary difficulty for riders who are already working under time and weather constraints.

I kindly request LuLu Mall to consider providing a small, designated parking or waiting area for food-delivery riders closer to the mall/service entrance, while maintaining all necessary security protocols.

This would be a small but meaningful step towards making the mall more rider-friendly and showing empathy towards the people who provide an essential service to thousands of customers every day.

I hope the management will consider this request positively.

Thank you.

Regards,
[Name]

If you agree, please copy the email above and send it.

Let’s see if a small collective effort from the community can bring about a simple, meaningful change.

Public Display of Affection

Public Display of Affection

Just saw a couple making out inside a Creta. That too, on a busy road near the High Court. The glass was tinted, but it was still visible, and the act was pretty evident.

Dude, if you’re seeing this, get a room. Or, if it’s some kind of car fetish thing, do it somewhere secluded. There are plenty of secluded places in Kochi where you can do your thing, or try doing it at night. Or, if you actually want people to see it, use a less-tinted car next time.

I don’t blame him, though. We all have our weird fetishes. Anyway, guys, suggest some secluded places in Kochi where he can do his thing. Might help a soul in need...

Am I being scammed by broker?

I saw a property on housing.com for a 1bhk house for rent in DLF New Town Heights, Kakkanad, Kochi. https://housing.com/rent/20931986-580-sqft-1-bhk-apartment-on-rent-in-kakkanad-kochi
I messaged him. He shared me pics. I decided to visit tomorrow. He then called me to say to create visiting card, he needs 2k rs. A guy called Akshay Arora.

Am I being scammed? or does DLF New town heights require 2k as refundable deposit to issue visiting card?

I am very suspicious.

A random woman got into my car because she said she was the kids’ neighbour, but later we realised she was a total stranger

So this happened this morning and I'm still thinking about it.

I had to drop my sister at school, and on the way I had to pick up two other students from the next bus stop. They are the children of a family friend, so I know them.

It was raining, so I slowed down, put the hazard lights on, and the two kids started getting into the back seat.

Then this middle-aged woman suddenly came up to the car and started getting in too. She casually asked, "Can you drop me at the junction?"

My sister nodded yes, I gave her a stare and I asked the lady "Who are you?"

She said she was the neighbour of those two kids.

The kids also said yes, so I thought okay, they know her. I wasn't really interested in giving her a lift, but it was raining, and she said she had missed her bus and needed to get to the bank urgently.

So I dropped her at the junction. She said thanks and left.

A little later, I asked the kids, "Who was that woman?"

They said:

"We don't know her. We've only seen her at the bus stop."

I was like WHAT???

I had assumed they actually knew her when they said yes. Apparently, they just recognized her from the bus stop.

I got really angry and scolded them because, seriously, what if something had happened? A complete stranger just got into the car because she said she was their neighbour.

I also scolded my sister because she nodded yes without actually knowing the woman. Although, looking back, I think she probably just assumed the woman was someone the other kids knew.

The funny thing is, the woman was completely normal and confident. She just came in because of the rain, started talking normally, explained that she missed her bus, needed to go to the bank, etc. Nothing about the situation felt weird at the time.

But afterward I kept thinking about it.

Nothing happened, thankfully. But damn, we really shouldn't have assumed she was safe just because the kids said yes...

First time in Kochi — looking for itinerary + food/social tips

Hey guys, I’m from Rajasthan and coming to Kerala/Kochi for the first time in September. Gonna be travelling solo for a few days and then exploring other parts of Kerala.

I’m veg (eggs are fine), so pls suggest some good local food, street food, cafes etc. Also what places should I definitely visit in/around Kochi and how many days are enough?

I’m kinda introverted and trying to socialize more lol, so any good hostels, chill places, activities or spots where I can meet people would be great.

Basically looking for a decent itinerary + food + things to do. Any local tips are welcome 😅

A day in my life as a Nurse - Inserting an IV Cannula

A rectangular steel tray. And inside it was a cannula covered in a long plastic sheet with a blue cap on top of it ,a cotton ball with a few drops of alcohol rub and 2 tapes; one long and rectangular, the other one shaped like the U turn in a highway.

" Where's the tourniquet??" exclaimed the senior sister.

Without waiting for me of fetch the missed item she produced a thin rubber tube from her pocket.

"Come let's go" she said and walked towards the patient bed holding the tray in her hand with pride like it's some prize.

" Please wait outside while we insert this needle and draw some blood to run a few tests for your son. It'll be quick"

She said to the bystander and before waiting for a reply she closed the curtains behind the anxious mom.

The kid was lying there not knowing what these women in blue were upto.

"We won't hurt you. We're here to give you some meds so that you'll feel better and go home quick."

He knew somehow that this was going to hurt. He started showing subtle signs of fear. But the nurses were really sweet that one held his arm in place while others held his knees together.

The senior nurse applied the tourniquet on his forearm and started to scan for veins. She wipes his arm with the cotton swab. As the liquid left it's trace in his skin bluish green veins grew visible. Now the search was for a straight vein. After pressing and tapping on different veins, she found one. The perfect vein.

She opened the packet and produced the cannula out of it. She pulled the long needle called the stillet and made sure it's tip was sharp and not bent. She removed the white cap in the bottom if the cannula.I took the cap and tapes to secure the cannula.

Everyone tightened their grip as the senior said " I am going to prick now"

She bent a little and held the needle flat to the vein. She made some calculations with the vein and length of te needle before slowly pricking the patient and advanced the needle in a swift motion. He cried from the sudden pain while she slowly pulled back the needle to see if it was in place and if blood flowed back. Fortunately it did. She pulled the stillet a little and pushed the plastic cannula tip deeper into his vein. I secured it with the rectangular tape first and then applied the horshoe tape.

She drew blood for samples, transferred it to the bloodtubes and sent it to the lab. All of us tried to cheerup the kid, who seemed terrified and sick at the same time.

Some kids hold it in, while some cry their lungs out at the sight of our white coat. It hurts us to hurt kids, but we do it in the best interests of our patients.

To insert an IV canula is no simple task. It gives us access to your blood stream and any medication given through IV immediately reaches the entire body quickly like magic. And to be part of this magic is a privilege.
