I've been friends with this guy for quite a while. We got really close, talked almost every day, had voice calls, and sent each other reels. At one point, he confessed that he liked me. We talked it through, decided to continue as friends, and things went back to normal. After some time, he told me he'd been overthinking again and sent me three long paragraphs saying he knows he'll have to stop talking to me someday but deep down he never wants that because I'm the person who makes him the happiest. He said he can't imagine a day without talking to me, especially because after our voice calls he sleeps so happy. He said he'd been forcing himself not to like me so we could stay friends, but lately he felt helpless and couldn't hold his feelings back anymore, and that not telling me would feel like betraying me. He kept saying I did nothing wrong, that everything was because of him, that he didn't deserve me, that I was the definition of perfect to him (not because of looks or studies, but as a person), that he'd do whatever I told him to do, and that he'd never stop praying for me. He also said he felt like his friends would be happier without him and that I'd probably be happier too, and that he wanted one last normal call because he thought he'd remember it forever. We still continued talking normally afterward. Later I told him I was upset that he hadn't told me on the day he originally wanted to, but I had fallen asleep before he could. He apologized and said that's why he didn't tell me, then later added that he's actually glad he didn't because if he had, he would've cried a lot and probably stopped talking to me completely. We still talk normally now, but I'm confused about what all of this meant.

So yeah

I don't really know why I'm writing this, maybe I just need to get it off my chest. Ever since I was a kid, I was usually the one who got blamed for everything that happened between me and my siblings. I got scolded and beaten a lot, and it just became normal until around 10th grade. As I got older, I started talking back to my mom because I was so hurt by the things she'd say. I know I said hurtful things too, but I was just angry all the time. Eventually they decided to send me to boarding school, and my sister came with me too. After that things got a bit better, especially with my dad. My mom still has her moments, but I've stopped expecting her to change. I don't hate my parents, and I know they probably did what they thought was right, but it definitely changed me. I'm awful at confrontation, I can't handle people yelling, I get anxious really easily, and even now I always feel like I'm about to get blamed for something. Maybe it was all meant to happen, I don't know. I just wonder if it really had to happen this way.

Does anyone else think this way about life?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

Maybe the key to life is accepting that nothing really belongs to us. Every person, experience, achievement, and even the good moments we have are temporary. Sooner or later, they'll change or disappear.Sometimes I wonder if we're supposed to enjoy things while they're here, but at the same time remember that they won't be here forever.

But then that makes me question what life is actually about. Is it just about enjoying things while they last? Or is there something more to it than that?
