Luxury cars block the road? 'No problem.' My Uber pulls up? 'Move immediately!' The double standards at hotel are real

I recently went for a Saturday night outing at a popular hotel in Kakkanad. I took an Uber, which happened to be a Maruti Alto. When we arrived, the hotel didn't have a designated drop-off zone because the limited space in front was entirely occupied by the "flashy" cars of their wealthier patrons.

My cab driver pulled into the only available space to let me out, but before I could even pay, hotel staff came running over. They began banging on the car window, arrogantly shouting at the driver to move 50 meters ahead, claiming he was blocking traffic—all while I was still trying to pay and exit the vehicle, despite being a guest at their restaurant.

After eventually getting out, I waited in front of the hotel for my friend. Over the next ten minutes, I watched as several luxury cars—Mercedes, BMWs, and the like—pulled up and blocked the exact same road to drop off their passengers. Yet, the hotel staff didn't say a word; they were patient, accommodating, and silent.

It was infuriating to see that it’s all about status and money. The hotel is clearly at fault for prioritizing the available space for luxury vehicles while failing to provide any room for standard cabs to drop off or pick up guests safely. It was a blatant display of elitism.

Do you have friends who hijack a trip?

PoV: You and two other friends make plans to go on a trip, and everyone agrees to the itinerary. As soon as the trip begins, one of the friends keeps nagging about inconveniences and talking negatively, insisting that everything goes according to his plans. Since the other two people are accommodating and considerate, they hesitantly go along with the manipulative friend’s demands, hoping he will align with the initial plan later. Instead, he comes up with even more inconveniences. Now, you just want the trip to be over because this guy only complains about the most minor inconveniences—things that could easily be overlooked. He kills the whole vibe of the trip, and being with him is so stressful.

Got rear ended by a thar guy who was trying to squeeze in through packed traffic that was moving at snails pace

I just got rear-ended by a Thar driver who was trying to squeeze through the heavy, standstill traffic just in front of the Quality Bakers outlet at Thrikkakara. Because it was heavy traffic, I didn’t want to disrupt the flow further, so I just parked my vehicle in front of a shop about 10 meters from the incident spot, hoping the Thar driver would also stop his car to discuss the damages and reach a compromise. But, being the usual naive guy, I forgot that I was dealing with a Thar driver who leaves his brain at home while driving, and he just sped away. I couldn't even note down the car number, and I just felt like a complete clown. The damages incurred aren't major; I contacted the insurance guy, sent him the pictures, and he said I could make a claim without a GD report. Lesson learned: block the whole traffic even if you have to, and expect no mercy or courtesy from these selfish people who have no regard for others' property.
