Bad experience with an Instagram clothing brand – Rooh The Store / Belair Multibrand Store

I wanted to share my experience with an Instagram clothing brand because what was supposed to be my Onam outfit turned into a completely frustrating experience.

I liked a dress from Rooh The Store and specifically asked whether it was available for quick dispatch because I had an upcoming Onam function. They told me the dress wasn’t with them but was available at Belair Multibrand Store, and asked me to contact them.

I contacted Belair, and they confirmed that the dress was available. However, the slip was a different size. They told me they would arrange the correct-size slip by Monday and definitely dispatch it on Monday.

On Monday, I followed up and was told that the order had already been dispatched and that it would reach me before my function. I checked again yesterday and received the same response.

Today, I finally asked them to share the tracking ID. They sent me the DTDC tracking number, and to my shock, the tracking showed that the package was actually picked up only late last night.

So the product had clearly NOT been dispatched on Monday as I had been repeatedly told.

When I questioned them about this, at least Belair store apologised to me. But the owner of Rooh The Store spoke to me extremely rudely and started shouting at me over the phone. When I pointed out the discrepancy in the DTDC tracking, I was told that since this was an urgent order from my side, they were not responsible for delivering it within the promised timeline and that they were only “trying to help.”

I completely understand that courier delays can happen. That’s not my complaint.

My issue is that I was repeatedly told that the product had already been dispatched when it hadn’t even been picked up by DTDC. If they had simply been honest and said, “We couldn’t dispatch it on Monday, so we can’t guarantee delivery before your function,” I could have made another arrangement.

Instead, I trusted their repeated assurances and now I’m left without the outfit I planned for my Onam function.

And being shouted at by the owner when I calmly questioned the tracking information made the experience even worse.

Please be careful when placing urgent/event-specific orders through Instagram stores. Get proper tracking information before relying on their promises.

Sharing this so others can make an informed decision before ordering.

Let’s be change-makers: Give delivery riders a designated parking spot at Lulu Mall

Posting this again as the first one got removed because of the image

I’ve noticed something at LuLu Mall that I feel we should talk about.

Swiggy and Zomato delivery riders aren’t allowed to take their bikes inside the mall premises. They have to park somewhere outside and walk for 10+ minutes to reach the food court, collect the order, and then walk all the way back.

That can easily mean 20+ minutes spent just going in and out for a single delivery.

These riders are working under time pressure, often in the heat and rain, trying to complete deliveries and earn their livelihood. Is there really no better solution?

I’m not asking LuLu Mall to compromise on security or pedestrian safety. Why not allot a small, designated parking/collection area specifically for food-delivery riders somewhere closer to the mall/service entrance? Security checks can still be maintained.

LuLu Mall is one of the most prominent malls in Kerala. I’d love to see the same world-class standards reflected in how we treat the people who help make our everyday lives more convenient.

Dear Redditors, let’s be change-makers.

Instead of only discussing this here, let’s collectively write to LuLu Mall management and request a practical solution.

If enough of us send a polite email, maybe it will reach the right people and encourage them to look into this.

Emails to:

Copy-paste email and send:

Subject: Request for Dedicated Parking/Access for Food Delivery Riders at LuLu Mall Kochi

Dear LuLu Mall Management,

I would like to bring to your attention the difficulty faced by Swiggy and Zomato delivery riders at LuLu Mall Kochi.

Currently, riders have to park their bikes away from the mall and walk for more than 10 minutes to reach the food court, collect the order, and walk back. This can add 20+ minutes to a single delivery, creating unnecessary difficulty for riders who are already working under time and weather constraints.

I kindly request LuLu Mall to consider providing a small, designated parking or waiting area for food-delivery riders closer to the mall/service entrance, while maintaining all necessary security protocols.

This would be a small but meaningful step towards making the mall more rider-friendly and showing empathy towards the people who provide an essential service to thousands of customers every day.

I hope the management will consider this request positively.

Thank you.

Regards,
[Name]

If you agree, please copy the email above and send it.

Let’s see if a small collective effort from the community can bring about a simple, meaningful change.

My uncle needs to change careers due to lack of income. Looking for realistic job ideas.

My uncle lives in Kozhikode, is in his early 60s and has worked as an LIC agent for most of his life. Unfortunately, the business has become extremely slow, and these days he may get only one policy sale every 2–3 months.

His children help financially when they can, but it’s not enough for him and his wife to live on. His wife is a kidney patient, and they spend around ₹7,000 every month on medicines alone.

Because of this, he’s trying to find a new profession or a job that can provide a more stable income.

About him:

Graduate - Speaks good English - Strong communication and people skills - Has decades of experience interacting with people through his work as an LIC agent - Studied some counselling during his seminary years - Comfortable guiding, advising, and building relationships with people - Lives in a somewhat remote area, so location-dependent options like home tuition or coaching classes are not practical.

We’re trying to think beyond the usual “start a business” advice and would love suggestions from people who have seen successful career transitions at this age.

What kinds of jobs, remote work, part-time opportunities, or side gigs could realistically suit someone with his background? We are especially interested in options that can provide a stable monthly income rather than highly commission-based work.

Any ideas, experiences, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Career Options for a 60+ LIC Agent Struggling With Income – Looking for Practical Suggestions

I’m posting this on behalf of my uncle, who is in his early 60s. Lives in Kerala

He has been working as an LIC agent for many years, but business has become extremely slow. These days, he hardly gets a policy sale once every 2–3 months. While some of his children help financially whenever they can, it is not enough to cover their regular expenses.

His wife is a kidney patient, and they spend around ₹7,000 every month on medicines alone, which has made their financial situation quite challenging.

He is now actively looking to change his profession or find a job that can provide a more stable income.

A little background about him:

A bit about him:
Graduate - Speaks good English - Strong communication and people skills - Studied some counselling during his seminary years - Comfortable guiding and advising people - Lives in a somewhat remote area, so location-dependent options like tuition are difficult.

We would be grateful for any suggestions on:

Jobs that someone in their 60s can realistically transition into
Remote or work-from-home opportunities
Part-time jobs or side gigs that can generate a steady monthly income
Ways to make use of his communication, counselling, and relationship-building skills

If anyone has seen similar career transitions or has practical ideas, I would really appreciate your suggestions. Thank you.

Why Lulu Edapally not allowing Uber autos inside?

Went to Lulu mall by auto today and they didn’t allow the autos inside. They are asked to drop off customer near the gate. But they allow Uber cars and other taxis. Why this discrimination? Is this the same in every other malls?

Edited: Had gone there multiple times by auto and was always dropped off inside but I think this is a newly implemented thing.

Anyone have any experience with Asoka World School, Edapally? Any students or parents? Any help is appreciated. Confused between Dawn International School, Asoka World School and Marymatha Public School Thrikkakkara.

Child is 7 years, this is for Grade 1. Any syllabus is fine, just want to ensure the overall development of the child.
