For those of you on this sub who don't really follow Big Boss, there was a serious slut shaming issue involving Vedangi who had literally just entered the house as a wildcard on Monday. It hasn’t picked up yet, but her team has addressed it and the way her influencer circle is handling it on the outside is wild.

For context, here’s the quick breakdown. During an improv acting task on the show, Vedangi told a fellow contestant, Aishwarya, to act like a pregnant woman and then dropped a vile line at her: "ആരൊക്കെയാ ഇപ്പോ ഉള്ളത്, ഇതിന്റെ ഉത്തരവാദി ആരൊക്കെയാ?" ("Aarokeya ippo ullath, ithinte utharavadi aarokeyaa"). It was essentially cheap, character-assassinating and slut-shaming on national TV.

What makes it even worse is that Aishwarya is already an easy target to pick on for some cheap brownie points, considering she’s currently viewed quite negatively among the general audience. Aishwarya was awkward and laughed it off, but at first, she didn’t fully process how badly that comment could be spun against her outside. It was actually Anjali, a co-contestant, who stepped in and vocalized how damaging it looked. Once Anjali pointed it out, the severity hit Aishwarya, and Vedangi realized she messed up and went over to apologise.

The way her team and her influencer friends are handling this on Instagram right now is an absolute clown show. This happened just hours on 24x7 live stream, before the weekend episode telecast, so before it even aired on TV, clips started circulating online. Her team posted an official video reel to address the situation, and they actually included the exact clip of that slut-shaming comment right in the reel as "context", meaning her own team chose to broadcast the vile clip on her main page for all to see.

The double standards here are crazy. Just hours before this, Vedangi had been preachily dragging other contestants over an old issue involving her evicted friend Shibina, holding everyone accountable despite the issue being resolved weeks ago. But when Vedangi does something terrible? Suddenly her team expects everyone to just accept a quick apology and move on.

To make matters worse, her team also put out an insane IG story gaslighting everyone claiming people only care about slut-shaming now despite Aishwarya getting slut shamed since day 1, and whined that "people just love hating on women."

Meanwhile, her influencer friends jumped right into the trenches. Misbah was literally in the comment section arguing with and abusing users who called the post out. Creators like Rena Fathima and yourcoolaunt (Reshma) were liking the post in solidarity, while Saszy Bear commented saying "she has apologized and owned up unlike others."

It’s just exhausting to watch this creator clique protect their own no matter how toxic things get, weaponizing pseudo feminism and using an "apology" as a get-out-of-jail-free card while their friends abuse people in the comments.
