I ordered a saree from House of Mannath on July 15th. Order was confirmed the same day. It was a pre-booking saree, so I knew I’d have to wait, but I honestly expected some update from them.

Today is August 19th and I’ve received absolutely ZERO updates from their side.

I started messaging them last Thursday(august 13) and kept following up on WhatsApp, Instagram and email of their support team for an entire week. Finally, they replied saying the order is “in transit” but no tracking number, no courier details, no ETA. Literally nothing.

I get that pre-booking takes time, but is it really that difficult to update your customer if there’s a delay? Why do I have to chase you on three different platforms to get one line of information?

And this is especially frustrating because I’m newly married and this is my first Onam with my husband. I ordered this saree keeping that in mind, and now it’s August 19th and I still don’t even know when it’s reaching me.

I wanted to share my experience with an Instagram clothing brand because what was supposed to be my Onam outfit turned into a completely frustrating experience.

I liked a dress from Rooh The Store and specifically asked whether it was available for quick dispatch because I had an upcoming Onam function. They told me the dress wasn’t with them but was available at Belair Multibrand Store, and asked me to contact them.

I contacted Belair, and they confirmed that the dress was available. However, the slip was a different size. They told me they would arrange the correct-size slip by Monday and definitely dispatch it on Monday.

On Monday, I followed up and was told that the order had already been dispatched and that it would reach me before my function. I checked again yesterday and received the same response.

Today, I finally asked them to share the tracking ID. They sent me the DTDC tracking number, and to my shock, the tracking showed that the package was actually picked up only late last night.

So the product had clearly NOT been dispatched on Monday as I had been repeatedly told.

When I questioned them about this, at least Belair store apologised to me. But the owner of Rooh The Store spoke to me extremely rudely and started shouting at me over the phone. When I pointed out the discrepancy in the DTDC tracking, I was told that since this was an urgent order from my side, they were not responsible for delivering it within the promised timeline and that they were only “trying to help.”

I completely understand that courier delays can happen. That’s not my complaint.

My issue is that I was repeatedly told that the product had already been dispatched when it hadn’t even been picked up by DTDC. If they had simply been honest and said, “We couldn’t dispatch it on Monday, so we can’t guarantee delivery before your function,” I could have made another arrangement.

Instead, I trusted their repeated assurances and now I’m left without the outfit I planned for my Onam function.

And being shouted at by the owner when I calmly questioned the tracking information made the experience even worse.

Please be careful when placing urgent/event-specific orders through Instagram stores. Get proper tracking information before relying on their promises.

Saw a recent clip of Ved Lakshmi stating that "Robin has always been disrespectful to women around him and she knows of many such complaints against him".My question is "didn't you know that the guy was problematic AF since his own BB season? For someone who is conscious of what her son is exposed to and fears that seeing LGBTQ couples could influence young kids, didn't she see that Robin was too misogynistic to be friends with? Or did she need to be verbally and financially abused by him to see that? Ved Lakshmi was very unforgiving to Noora-Adhila but the same person tolerated Robin until he abused her. Like why such internalised misogyny? Same with Dilsha, she could see how Bleslee and Robin used to talk to other women but she conveniently sat with them but suddenly when she gets the wrath of their followers, she calls it unfair. Women who enable such toxic behaviour are as problematic as the ones who exhibit them.

Though I don’t follow them it keeps on coming in my feed. Everyday 3-4 new clothes?! I wonder who would be buying all these?!

Wdyt about her contents? I don’t find them annoying and I really like her videos where she and her second daughter cooks/bakes or whatever but very few such videos. Also her daughters seem pretty reserved and are not often seen in her videos.

I was watching TM’s latest vlog and isn’t it annoying how she keeps asking Vishnu to appreciate her? She keeps trying to make him feel like she is a big deal and something about their energies feels very odd. I constantly get the feeling that people are being forced into the vlogs and they have no option but to put up with it. I get the same feeling with her in laws.

I appreciate her consistency and all. I watch her vlogs once in a while and then get annoyed at these parts and end up forwarding. Forcefully putting people on the spot so that they appreciate her feels so off.

Also, her sort of always answering Reddit threads through her vlogs as clarifications are also so weird. For eg, her explanation of Vishnu staying back etc. There is never an acceptance of “hey, this went wrong” and always “I am the best” sort of portrayal.

Also, wasn’t the make up a little heavy for a hospital inauguration? Or am I too judgmental.

Edit: I feel we should be more respectful to the job situation, whatever it is. It’s more of a personal matter. And as much as we dislike the fake portrayals, she is probably doing everything she can to help.

My post was to highlight how vlogging forcefully pushes people to perform in life in a scripted way and that you often forgot to live life or empathise with people around you in the process. I hope she evaluates the value she is trying to drive with her content and stops forcing people around her to be in videos.
