The algorithm cooked for once
Every year we hear about new roads, flyovers, IT projects and smart city initiatives. But one thing that seems to be missing from Trivandrum is simple, accessible public parks and playgrounds.
Kids are glued to screens, parents are looking for safe outdoor spaces, and senior citizens need places to walk and relax. Yet in many parts of the city, there's not a decent neighborhood park within walking distance.
For a capital city, shouldn't public parks be considered essential infrastructure, just like roads and footpaths?
Feels like this is no longer a luxury-it's the need of the hour. Anyone else think Trivandrum deserves more green spaces?🌿
Is anyone else living along the NH stretch from Zam Zam to MGM School completely fed up with these modified bike riders?
Every single night, without fail, a group of bikers comes tearing through this road, revving their engines like they're auditioning for the next Fast & Furious movie. It's not even normal riding. They deliberately modify their exhausts to produce ear-splitting noise and then keep revving unnecessarily just to show off.
What makes it worse is that this stretch has apartments on both sides of the highway. Hundreds of families live here. Elderly people, students preparing for exams, people working night shifts trying to sleep, and families with babies.
There have been nights when babies suddenly wake up crying because of these thunder-like exhaust blasts. Imagine finally getting your child to sleep after hours, only for some self-proclaimed "road king" to shake the entire neighborhood awake at 11 PM.
The noise echoes between the apartment buildings and sounds ten times louder than it actually is. Sometimes it genuinely feels like a low-flying fighter jet is passing through the corridor.
And this isn't an occasional issue. This is a DAILY EVENT.
What is even more frustrating is that modified exhausts are illegal. The Motor Vehicles Department regularly conducts inspections and posts videos about enforcement drives. Yet this particular stretch continues to be a playground for these noise terrorists every single night.
Where is the enforcement?
Why aren't there regular checks during the late evening and night hours?
Why should hundreds of residents lose their peace because a handful of people want attention?
At this point, the bikers know nobody is stopping them. That's why they keep doing it again and again.
If MVD or the police spend just one night on this stretch, they'll catch enough modified exhaust bikes to fill an entire parking lot.
Anyone else from this area facing the same issue? Or are we all expected to accept nightly bike concerts as part of modern city life?
