This was my first time ever trying this feature, got declined instantly. Do you guys use this feature?

I want to share an incident that happened to me in Hyderabad.

I ordered food through Zomato and paid online using Google Pay. When the delivery agent arrived, he claimed he hadn’t received the payment. I showed him my Zomato order and Google Pay transaction history, but he still insisted that I pay another ₹265.

He showed me the Rapido platform, and I questioned him, saying I hadn’t ordered through Rapido but through Zomato. He claimed that some restaurants use Rapido to deliver orders smoothly.

He also threatened that my Zomato account would be disabled if I didn’t pay and assured me that Zomato would refund the amount.

Why did I pay? I had guests at home at the time. Although I suspected that something wasn’t right, I didn’t want to create a scene in front of my guests or prolong the confrontation at my doorstep. I simply wanted to get rid of the situation peacefully, so I paid ₹265 through Google Pay to a different phone number from the delivery agent’s number.

I later complained to Zomato. Their support team tried contacting him, but he denied taking any payment and subsequently stopped answering their calls.

Zomato offered me only ₹100 in compensation.
Honestly, it’s not just about ₹265; I’m concerned about how many other customers could potentially be affected by similar incidents. Not everyone wants to argue with a delivery agent at their doorstep.
I intend to report this to Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police and provide the relevant evidence.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What’s the best way to ensure Zomato investigates this properly and prevents other customers from potentially facing the same situation?

Thanks for huge platform fees (Started with a Rs 1, 2 years back) and other charges.

I had ordered two veg items and received 4 piece chicken wings. Restaurant probably messed up my order and gave it to some other person. Zomato AI is not at all letting me contact a human even after multiple attempts. AI will be humanity’s doom.

Today, I had ordered pork bamboo shoot from a restaurant. What came was I assure corn soup disguised as pork. Mind you the restaurant promised us with 10 pc of pork with false advertisement because when I received the order it was not even 10 pc but SLICED pieces which wasn’t even 10 pc in total. It tasted sour. Im a student so im on a budget and ordering with that much money was once in a blue moon speciality. The zomato support is not working they gave us a stupid bot. I wrote a complaint to the zomato order care on email. i posted on twitter as well and I even argued with the owner of the restaurant which he said he wont refund us because it is in Zomato’s hand. I hope someone listens to us. please help
