Okay fine, mission almost complete 😂 Finally figured out my neighbour's favourite brandy is DSP. I usually buy from the Vytila Metro Bevco because they have all the fancy stuff, but honestly I only know the brands I drink. That is not my usual brand , so no idea if DSP is available there or if I should go to some specific outlet in Kochi. Nobody drinks it in my normal circle.so help me. Planning to gift him a bottle when I'm back on the 4th. Kochi liquor experts, can u help, evide kittum.
I have posted in another subreddit i love but this is kochi specific
..I stay in a building full of bank managers, media people, executives and all, but the sweetest neighbour is our auto chettan in his 60s living alone in a tiny studio. This place got studio , 1bhk and 2bhk.First day I moved in, I saw him struggling to park because everyone's scooters were blocking the space, so I went down and adjusted them. ( pic attached is his auto from the angle i first met him)From then on, if I come back late from work near the railway station, I call him and he picks me up. Once or twice a month I like having a beer, and one night around 9 I was too lazy to book an Uber. I asked chettan to take me to the beer shop, wait for five minutes and bring me back. He never took a rupee, so he knows I drink. Sundays njan enthengilum undakki kodukkum because he mostly eats from outside and lives alone. Today I was sitting on the steps after dinner when he smiled and said, "Mole, njan brandy medichu... kurachu kudikkumo?"I asked what is the occasion
.. enikkuninnu kooduthal paisa kitti nerathe veran patti veettil.. he got a daughter and she lives with his teacher ex wife and he is so proud that she is studying to be an engineer. He had bought the cheapest plastic bottle I've ever seen, but the excitement in his eyes was like he'd won a lottery. I don't drink brandy, but I took my coffee mug, poured maybe 15 ml and filled the rest with water. Not because of the drink, but because I didn't want him to think I was judging him. Im drinking it in the same balcony.. not with him ...still felt im included in his little celebration..I think he just wanted someone to celebrate with. Sometimes the people who have the least are the ones who make you feel the most included.
For the longest time I had one very specific wish. I wanted a girl next door who was just as crazy as me. Cinemayil okke kanunna pole.Someone I could randomly text on a Sunday, crack open a couple of beers with, smoke a little, and spend hours talking absolute nonsense and judging the entire world. Never happened. Until this weekend. I was home with a couple of beers, noticed she was home too, so one beer became two, a few smokes later we were laughing like we'd known each other forever. No drama, no pretending to be adults, just two women having the most random little house party. Somewhere between all the bad jokes and gossip, I realised I finally got the sister I never had. Sometimes life takes forever to deliver the smallest things, but when it does, it's worth the wait.
Ps we are still drinking 😅
After binge watching way too many AI billionaire romance dramas, I can't walk outside like a normal person anymore. Every random guy I see, from the one waiting at the bus stop to the one buying tea, my brain goes, "Secret billionaire. Definitely undercover." Any minute now he'll drag me into a luxury SUV, marry me in 48 hours, declare I'm his entire world, buy me a secret exclusive island, defeat three villains before lunch, and somehow still have perfect hair. Reality? The only man chasing me is the auto driver because I forgot to pay ₹38.
Plot twist he is the alpha of a powerful werewolf kingdom.
I feel like everyone here is a genz
