I’ve been keeping freshwater aquariums for about 5 years, but they’ve all been smaller tanks. I’m starting to plan my first 125-gallon and, before I settle on a stocking list, I’d love to hear what everyone else enjoys keeping in larger freshwater tanks. I tend to gravitate toward oddball fish or species with unique behaviors rather than fish that are just colorful. I’m not really a cichlid or Oscar guy, and while I do like bichirs and knifefish, I’m hoping to hear about some different ideas instead of those. If you had a 125-gallon freshwater tank, what would you stock it with and why? I’d love to discover some species I may have never considered.
