WTS - Moving out of Dubai — books need a new home
We're leaving the UAE at the end of August and I'm down to the part of packing where you look at a shelf and admit you're not taking all of it on a plane. So — Dubai people, these are looking for a home.
The one I'm genuinely sad about:
New Portable Architecture (SANDU Publishing) — AED 100
Large-format hardback on mobile and temporary structures: pavilions, pop-ups, modular cabins, festival and exhibition builds, with plans and photography throughout. English text, retails around 190. One corner of the cover is bumped and creased — photos show it, and that's why it's 120 rather than more. Pages are clean and unmarked.
If you're an architect, a designer or a student, this is a reference you keep on the desk rather than read once. I'd rather it went to someone who'll actually open it than to a recycling bin.
The rest — 8 books, AED 60 for the lot:
- Think Like a Rocket Scientist — Ozan Varol
- The 10-Day MBA — Steven Silbiger
- The Man's Guide to Corporate Culture — Heather Zumarraga
- Practical Presentation Skills — Brandt Johnson
- I Don't Want to Die Poor — Michael Arceneaux
- Get Off Your F**king Phone
- The Da Vinci Code — Dan Brown
- Tangle Art Pack — Beckah Krahula (drawing book plus a sketchpad)
Mostly business and self-development with a thriller and a drawing book in there. Normal shelf wear, no water damage, nothing falling apart, no annotations.
Happy to split the lot if two or three of them are what you're after — just say which.
Everything together — AED 150.
I'm on Palm Jumeirah. Pickup is easiest, but I can meet somewhere sensible in Dubai if that works better for you. Cash or transfer, whatever.
And if nobody wants the eight, tell me where the good book-swap shelves in Dubai are — I'd rather pass them on than bin them.
