Cosmetic Update Info

I’ll start with some info I found while playing that seemed worth sharing, maybe already known to some.

  • When you get a cosmetic box, you have to successfully extract it and make it back to the truck to keep it. If you extract a crate earlier in the run but end up wiping later, both the coin and the box are lost.
  • Another thing I found is that tokens persist. You don’t have to spend them right away if you want to hoard them. Whether you wipe a game, start a new save, or join a friend, you still keep your coins. They're player-bound, not session-bound. - Might be a nice fact for those who'd wanna do an unboxing party with friends.
  • Because of that, we also tested the token cap. We got up to 11 tokens before getting impatient and spending them, mostly because we assumed the cap would be 10. My guess is the actual cap is probably somewhere around 99.
  • Cosmetic boxes do have health, so damaging them will eventually break them. However, the player can heal the crate by giving HP from their own health pool. Similar to healing a friend. They're pretty beefy though, and my group hasn't had the need to do this outside of testing reasons.
  • This one is probably well known, but when we first started the update, it was nice to find that everyone gets a coin if a box is extracted and your team makes it to the truck. When we first began, we wondered if only the host got it, or the person who found the crate. But do not fret playing with friends in this update, you will all get coins.
  • So far, I’ve played 60+ hours since the update dropped with friends, and none of us have gotten duplicate cosmetics. As far as I can tell, you’re guaranteed to get a brand-new item every time. However, we still haven’t reached the point where we’ve fully capped out a rarity, so we’re not sure what happens after that yet. The Fandom Wiki states if you get all items from a rarity, then the coins give a cash value when redeemed at the kiosk. But not during your round, only at the shop.
  • Defibro seems to be a niche item. With not so much of a use in multiplayer as it does in solo due to its high price tag. It's about 40k with a one-time use. Once it's used, it breaks, and you have to buy another. When you die, even in solo player, as long as Defibro is on you, it will attempt to revive you. My friends have found that if we died in a pit and our heads got flung far enough, it has about a 20% chance of giving up trying to get to you and letting you die regardless. Also, when it does revive a player, it'll give them 50 HP instead of resetting you down to 1 like a typical extract.
  • Having trouble driving the new bikes? Don't tap A and D to move, they're for drifting and will yank the car to the side. Only drive with W to go forward, S to go backward, and steer with your mouse. Do short bursts of pressing W to drive at a steady pace, holding longer to go faster. Also, the bikes get major momentum on stairs. So drive over them with caution.
  • The bike with storage, you grab an item (as long as it's not too big) float it above the hatch, and let go. It will get sucked in. The bike can only hold 20k worth of items. But the neat part is, once an item is in the bike, it's safe. It cannot be destroyed. My group has been dedicating the bike to holding orbs, since all orb sizes fit, and we all know how fragile orbs can be.
  • When the bike reaches 0 energy, it will blow up. At which point the player is flung off. The player can still recover the bike, and any items still inside will be OK and can still be extracted, even if the bike is no longer drivable.
  • Every shop, besides the mechanic shop seems to have a secret room! I'll leave it to you to find them, as it was a fun time exploring each shop for them. My only hint is for very specific shops, >!some shops have cracks that might need some tough love to get results.!<

This next bit of info is from the Fandom Wiki, so take it with a grain of salt, but running the numbers with my group's data, it seems pretty correct.

If anyone else has some cool findings with this update they've discovered, I'd love to hear them.
