Pulsar Superglide3 slower than my Pulsar PD170

I got the chance to borrow a Pulsar Superglide 3 glass mouse pad for my first glass experience and I'm feeling a bit mixed about it. I wasn't expecting it to be slower than my PD170 cloth pad using the same stock skates on my Vaxee XE-S.

Is this normal? I was expecting even the slowest glass pads to be faster than the fastest cloth pads. I'm sure that I can tune it to be very similar to my PD170 with some dot skates but I'm sort of in two minds about getting my own glass pad or not.

Pros:

  • Looks amazing (dark green colourway)
  • Easy to maintain and won't get dirty like my cloth pads
  • I already use a gaming sleeve
  • The sound of my mouse on it is quiet and not unpleasant

Cons:

  • Its very cold to the touch...
  • Slower than expected

Will the glass pad feel different after my stock skates wear in a bit? Really thinking about whether to get my own and sell my PD170.

If I can get the same feel of the PD170 from the superglide3, I think I would prefer the easier maintenance and beautiful look of it.

Are dot skates more discernable on glass mouse pads?

I've been experimenting with different dot skates on my Pulsar PD170 pad. X-raypad Jades, Obisidian Airs and UWS Silver Foxes.

All on the same mouse, same amount of dots, same configuration. But I can't really notice much of a difference in terms of glide and speed.

Are the differences in dot skates much more noticeable on glass mouse pads and not so much on cloth?

Is the LGG Saturn Pro and Pulsar eS Saturn Pro the exact same product?

I've recently received an old LGG Saturn Pro. I heard that Pulsar acquired LGG but I'm wondering if Pulsar did any changes or alterations to the old LGG pads after their acquisition.

Ideal skates for cloth speed pads?

Hi all,

I'm looking to get dot skates for my new Pulsar PD170 mousepad. Its fantastic and the fastest pad I've ever owned.

Is it recommended to use more controlled dot skates to temper a speed pad, or is it better to go all in with speed skates as well?

Currently looking at either the X-raypad Jades or Obsidian Airs. My main (and only) game is CS2 and I gotta say that speed pads for tac fps is pretty underrated.
