The AI Prompt Challenge closed today at 15:00 GMT+3.

No entries were submitted on Reddit or Discord, so there are no winners in the Free, Plus or Premium tiers.

If you considered entering and didn't, leave a comment and tell us what stopped you, the target line, the two challenge characters, the screen recording requirement, the timing, the tier registration, anything. We'd rather know than guess, and it shapes how the next one is built.

More events are on the way, and Character of the Fortnight continues on its usual cycle.

The challenge closes **Monday, August 17th at 15:00 GMT+3**. If you've been meaning to try, this is your window.

Quick check before you submit:

• React on the announcement post to register your tier, there's one winner in each of Free, Plus and Premium

The task

At the opening time we will post one exact sentence and one official character, created by our team for this challenge. Your objective is to get that character to say that sentence.

You may not instruct the character to say the line, and you may not place the line anywhere the model can read it. The sentence has to arise from the conversation itself. That's the whole puzzle.

The sentence and the character will not be released in advance. Everyone begins at the same time.

Tiers and winners

Our three tiers do not all run the same AI models, so the character will not behave identically for every participant. We decided to make it fair so we're awarding one winner in each tier: Free, Plus and Premium.

State your tier in your comment when you submit:

• Unlimited memory through a referral code → Free

• Founders Club without a paying subscription → Plus

• Founders Club with a paying subscription → the tier you pay for

Entries from Reddit and Discord compete together. Within each tier, the first valid entry wins, whichever platform it was posted on. Timestamps are compared in UTC.

How to enter

1. Use the official challenge character. It will be linked at the opening, and the link is what identifies it. Characters with the same name or appearance created by anyone else don't count, including your own.

2. Begin a new chat with no prior messages. You can start as many new chats as you want.

3. Record your screen as you play.

4. Post the recording as a video comment on this post, with your tier written in the comment.

Submissions are public so timestamps are visible to everyone. That's deliberate, it keeps the result transparent.

The recording

• No longer than 1 minute 30 seconds

• Must show the exchanges leading up to the line, ending with the character saying it

• Must run unbroken, with no cuts inside it

You may trim the start and end. You may not cut anything out of the middle. If you'd rather not record the whole session, just start recording for the final stretch of the conversation as it happens.

Screenshots will not be accepted.

Requirements

• The official character only, and recreations of it are not accepted.

• No hints.

• No regenerated responses.

• No edited responses.

• Your own messages must comply with our community and platform rules: no NSFW content, no gore, no slurs, no harassment. This applies to how you build the setup as well as to the result.

Disqualification

Any entry that breaks the requirements above will be disqualified, including entries in which the character did say the sentence. Rule-breaking content in a submission will be handled as a standard rule violation and may affect your standing on the platform.

The moderation team has final say on the validity of an entry.

Prize and artist terms

The prize is a character design/drawing by https://www.reddit.com/u/oculus11125/s/BrD7juty9a who proposed this challenge. The piece is full body, digital, with clean lines, full colour and light shading. You may have an existing character of yours drawn, or have a new one designed.

Accepted subjects: dragons, humans and humanoids, animals and fantasy creatures, mild gore, furries

Not accepted: NSFW, heavy gore, mechs and machinery

• The client provides an appropriate reference and/or written description of the requested character.

• The artist's signature must not be removed or altered.

• The work must be credited to the artist wherever it is posted.

• The artist retains the right to use the work for her portfolio, social media and self-promotion. Please inform her if you would prefer the piece not be posted.

• Where a rough sketch is approved by the client and the finished piece follows that sketch, the artist is not obliged to redo the work. Please review the sketch carefully.

• The artwork may not be used for AI training. The artist has confirmed that using the finished piece as a character avatar on AICHIKI is acceptable.

Unfortunately the power is still not back but we managed to get the app working with the help of our solar panels. We don't know when will they turn the power back on and we can't guarantee the app will work the whole time.

Heads up, power went out yet again. The app is down. We will come back with more info as soon as we know more.

I am here with a heads up about the bugs we currently have.

Character creation and editing

1. Opening messages lose their formatting when they render in chat.

Paragraph spacing collapses and separate lines get merged. The text itself is intact, it's just not laid out the way the creator wrote it. Affects iOS, Android and Web, all tiers, consistently.

2. Past memories don't save in drafts.

Add a memory to an unfinished character, exit, and it's gone.

3. Character edits don't always apply.

Edits to the opening scene don't take effect, and the Premium mark doesn't show on past memories, so there's no way to tell from the outside whether the memories saved at all. Duplicating the character has worked as a stopgap for some people. Resetting local data does not help.

Chat

4. Downloading a conversation as a PDF puts the app into a false offline state.

A crossed-out cloud icon appears and the app behaves as if it has no connection. Fully closing and reopening restores it.

5. The retry button sometimes doesn't appear when a message fails to send.

Intermittent, not every failure, which is part of why it's been hard to pin down. When it happens there's no way to resend.

Web

6. Profile animations are missing on aichiki.ai.

Avatar animations render on app.aichiki.ai but not on the main domain.

What would help us

I've left a comment below for each of these. Upvote the ones you're personally hitting, it gives us a rough sense of scale and helps us order the work.

More useful than that: if you've noticed *anything* around a bug, a pattern, a condition that seems to set it off, something you dismissed as too small to be relevant, open a ticket in the app and tell us what you saw and which bug it relates to. Bug 5 above is intermittent, and that's exactly the kind we can only fix if someone happens to notice what the failing cases have in common. Details that feel trivial are frequently the whole answer.

If you're hitting something that isn't on this list, report it and we'll look into it. A version number, your platform, and what you did right before it happened is enough to make a report useful.

Fixes

All six are being worked on. If testing goes as planned there should be an update next week, but we're not going to hard-commit to a date and then miss it.

We're currently dealing with a power outage across our whole area, along with a loss of internet service.

Our server itself is still running on solar power, so the hardware is fine, but without an internet connection there's no way for us to keep AICHIKI reachable. The app and website will be unavailable until connectivity is restored.

We don't have a time estimate yet. This is in the hands of the local power and internet providers, and we'll share an update here as soon as we know more, plus another one the moment everything is back online.

Your account, characters and chats are safe. Nothing has been lost.

Hey everyone, update on the situation: the outage turned out to be partial in our area, so we're back online right now!

There's still a chance power cuts out later today or tomorrow (Wednesday July 22 & Thursday July 23, 9:00–17:00 EEST), but we've rigged up a backup plan: our solar panels. ☀️ If it works as hoped, AICHIKI will keep running even when the grid goes down.
