First time painting a portrait

Watercolor, then went out and bought pencils for detail. I’ve painted vague landscapes as more of a mental activity, but really surprised myself with the first portrait I’ve ever done turning out this well.

It’s going to be a fairly creepy birthday card, but I’ll be able to hand it over with far more pride than I had planned for.

Day 1: 100 days until wedding day

It is time to take my nails seriously again. A messy coat with my favourite colour combo is always how I start a no-bite campaign. I’m really hoping to have nice short almond shapes by 21 November, in time for my wedding.

- maintaining polish the first couple weeks so I don’t see the temptations
-keeping cuticle oil by the sink so that I remember to reapply
-keeping a nail file in my purse to catch those snags before my teeth do
- hand lotion as a replacement behaviour

Sage advice, encouragement, and reality checks are welcome! I know I can do this. I did quite well a little over a year ago, (three and a half months is my best streak), but I am a nervous person on a normal day, let alone as a bride!
