I was listening to Iceman this morning and he checks all the boxes for a god MC. His flow is impeccable, he has the ultimate quotable and funny lines, his beat selection is nuts, his hits own the summer, he has the best and most influential fashion sense of any modern day rapper.

If you had to pick one thing Drakes best at what would it be?

Before the beef Kendrick was seen as a wise god tier MC. He was making The Heart Part 5, TPAB and just being honest and making hard rap songs.

The beef made Kendrick look ugly, turns out he’s jealous, bitter, willing to lie about someone and worst of all a sell out. Compare the streaming trash pile that was GNX to TPAB and it’s laughable. Kendrick does not know how to make pop music which he’s trying to do with GNX, no melody, trash Jack Antnioff beats, SZA hooks and terrible meme performances. Mark my words, his next LP will be even worse and the beef will follow him like a bad dream for the rest of his career. He is now known as the man who’s jealous of Drakes success.

As we now know back in 2024 Kendrick lied about The Bot, he claimed he has a daughter, he was a pdf and that he had no classics.

Kendrick’s biggest fuck up here was that even Drake haters admit that Take Care, NWTS, IYRTITL and Views are classics, so that shows Kendrick’s true intentions off the bat. Then he lied about the other stuff but Drake is one of the most honest people on planet earth, if you wanna know where he is at life chuck his newest record at the time. There’s no way he’d be a pdf or have a daughter and not make a song about it or have lines referencing it.

Kendrick may lie and hide who he really is (he kept quiet about him cheating on his wife for over ten years) but The Boy wears his heart on his sleeve

In 2024 the industry did everything they could to take The Boy down, it didn’t work, in fact he came back stronger than ever. Two years later and he has surpassed MJ for number one hits and added another classic album to the pile.

But why didn’t it work? It’s because Drake is too talented to be forgotten about he has everything to make the ultimate rapper, flow, amazing beats, athletic body, quotables, aura, melody. He is also the most honest rapper and would admit to having a daughter and other lies, every album he tells where he at. He is the ultimate entertainer and cannot be taken down.

Back in 2024 Kendrick thought the only way to take The Boy down was to lie about him. He lied about a daughter, him being a pdf and how he has no classics.

This backfired and now Kendrick looks pathetic and washed up. He dropped his worst album ever all while Drake has surpassed MJ in number one hits proving that he is the ultimate entertainer

Drake clearly has a problem with pride his album cover for Iceman is literally a gloat that he is the new MJ and he proved this himself by having more hits than him. He also has his achievement all over his household. This is prideful behaviour, but for many in his position they’d do the same as it’s hard not to be proud of unthinkable success.

He also shows off his washboard abs and massive biceps in gym photos throughout the years. It’s respectable to work hard and be proud of your body but some may see this as ego driven.

Now Kendrick suffers from pride and it often comes off hypocritical he acts like he’s above everyone because of the amount of Grammys he gets. He only gets them because old white men feel like he’s a safe hip hop option, before him it was Kanye, and before him it was Jay Z and Eminem. Grammys mean absolutely nothing and he acts like he’s the king for having so many.

Also he’s proud of his family and brags about living with his children all the while cheating on his wife who’s stuck by his side for his whole life. He’s also used a thorny crown as imagery which is beyond eye roll inducing and just pathetic, and he’d go for another rappers neck for doing that. He’s also obsessed with suggesting that he’s the new 2Pac when he ain’t on Pacs level at all. Kendrick thinks way way too highly of himself and needs to experience ego death

Now it’s clear that when Drake was coming up on the scene he wanted to be the number one rapper and be Kanye level. But something happened early in his career, by the time Views came out he surpassed Ye and should have gotten his dream.

But Drake was jealous of MJs number one hits, he wanted to be the artist with the most hits ever. This is why he worked his ass off album by album and song by song to surpass both of his idols. The problem now is where does he go from here? He’s already beat MJ, he can’t surpass any musician, he’s won the game. They say never achieving your dreams is the second worst fate and achieving your dreams is the worst.

I’m gonna start a new series going through the seven deadly sins and how each represents a part of Kendrick’s core character. I will do this with Drake also since people call me biased.

Kendrick has been jealous of Drake since 2017. You can tell on Damn he wanted it to be his “hit” album like Drakes Views or Take Care but he just doesn’t have the melodic power to do it. This is why after he became washed up and nobody cared about him he lied about The Boy and teamed up with the industry against him. Drakes has everything he wants, hits, height, women, a bachelors lifestyle while Kendrick is stuck with a woman he’s cheated on (this will come back up with lust) and a falling off career with only a few number one hits.

As well all know Drake has surpassed MJ in hit songs. Drake did this because he reinvents himself every 5 years. In 2010 he was a goofy heartbroken kid on the come up, in 2015 he’s a handsome bachelor, in 2020 he’s the king with mob ties and now in 2025 he’s the champagne sipping villain ready to show the world who’s boss.

While MJ was basically the soft spoken Peter Pan man who absolutely loved children to the sweetest degree and would spend all day with them and have sleepovers his whole life. I think if MJ changed his personality in the mid 90s he’d do better on the charts, I think he would have suited a cigar chomping, whiskey sipping bachelor somewhere around the mid 90s and if he changed his aesthetic he’d have more hits

This morning I was listening to Toosie Slide and doing the dance and it got me thinking, has any other major rapper been able to create their own dance? I know pop stars have but I can’t think of a single rapper apart from Drake that had the cultural impact to make it happen.

Is there any other examples of this happening in rap?

Could he out do Iceman? Two classic in one year?
