I feel like hair loss in women isn’t taken seriously until it becomes obvious

My sister went to her doctor complaining about excessive shedding for over a year. She was told it's probably stress and sent home with a basic multivitamin. Six months later her parting was visibly wider and her ponytail had become half the thickness it used to be. Same doctor suddenly wanted to run tests. Nothing changed except now it was obvious to everyone else too.

Women's hair loss is almost always dismissed in the early stages. Too emotional. Too stressed. Overthinking it. By the time someone actually listens the damage is already done and recovery takes twice as long.

Early stage hair loss in women rarely looks dramatic. It's more hair in the shower. A slightly wider parting. A ponytail that feels thinner. These things are easy to ignore from the outside but the person living it knows something is wrong. The earlier you catch it the better the chances of recovery. But that only works if someone actually takes it seriously from the start.
