Best alternative to Q

What would be the easiest way to do analysis on relatively simple projects without having Q - would it be SQL? Pivot tables isn’t what I’m after.

Paid off hecs debt but the fortnightly deductions from pay have gone missing

I had a $17,000 HECS debt after the 20% reduction. I cleared this balance with a $17,000 lump-sum payment in May 2026.

My employer has been withholding mandatory HECS repayments from my $120k base salary since July 2025. Following my lump-sum payment, my fortnightly take-home pay increased by $306 (from $3,183 to $3,489) so I know that the hecs was 100% being paid each fortnight.

My accountant said the ATO have not mentioned the hecs I was paying monthly, despite me being able to see it in my payslip. So my hecs debt was 17,000, I paid a lump sum 17,000 because I was expecting to get back what I had paid in my pay slip ($306 a fortnight) but I didn’t get any of that back. So I’ve paid 17,000 (one off sum) and roughly $7344 (deductions from pay for the year) so $24,344.

Has this happened with anyone before? Any idea how to proceed?

Thanks so much!
