silly raccoon, that isn’t trash!
…At least that’s what I’m hoping 🥲
I spent an obscene amount of money on this dumb stuffed party shrimp.
I recently started working with a few 70+ individual clients who are grappling with their mortality, processing grief around the loss of hobbies, friends, memory/cognition, and abilities, and are feeling understandably anxious about what the future holds. I’m a newer therapist (NOT a baby therapist, please lower the pitchforks 😉), and I’m feeling a little unsure of how to approach this work.
So far, it’s mostly been a lot of normalizing and validating, but I want to be more helpful. I plan on connecting them to a peer support person if they are open to that. Are there interventions that help foster purpose, hope, or connection that have worked well for you?
Any insight is greatly appreciated! :)
