Trickle down economics in SG isnt really working

As cliche it sounds, getting rich people around the world to invest money in SG to create jobs for locals is pure naive.

Businesses just like money can open and close and move elsewhere like the recent H&M and Gardenia cases and unemployment rises. AI too is not helping.

Do you ever think companies foreign and local here care about SG other than their profit and loss margin? NOPE.

The wealth gap between rich and poor is widening year after year even after Government transfers help like GST vouchers. It's still not enough.

When was the last time you heard a billionaire residing in SG gave bonuses to its employees?

I can only remember Sheng Siong's boss.

Others including foreigners in the likes of Dyson or Eduardo? NOPE.

We REALLY NEED a wealth tax for those not contributing to the SG economy.

As long as this is not implemented, SG is regarded as a holiday home or stepping stone.

Time and again, I said 65% youre the problem not the solution

I already said many times after last election last year, name me one good news meant for local born Singaporeans?

NONE.

I just typed out a post with regards to legacy companies shifting to lower cost countries despite corruption and political issues those countries have.

I just read another recent post OP got laid off by presumably META.

The sentence that caught my eye is he/she thinks Singaporeans will be protected.

This is so naive on so many levels.

When did PAP led Govt protect locals from losing their jobs?

Again, NONE

WHOSE THE PROBLEM?! THE 65%.

Congrats 65%. You make retrenchment great again

Today the news Gardenia left SG for Malaysia.H&M also left for Malaysia. Yeos also left.

Don't forget for the past 1 year after the election - many big companies left for lower cost countries even if those countries are corrupted.

I already said time and again 65% youre the problem not the solution.

You voted (reap) what you sow.

What's up with the SwatchxAP Hype?

Its just another Hello Kitty /Labubu short term craze.

Once the craze dies down, it will be just another watch like Seiko.

Thanks 65% for your endorsement of CECA. Air India is a liability but 65% approved.

SQ is standing by Air India despite massive losses that affect bonus payouts to SQ staff.

You can thank 65% for their doofus mindset that will cripple SQ as SQ CEO put it in the long game with Air India.

Hahahaha 🤣

As a milennial, I feel sorry for Gen Z, Alpha, Beta etc these days.

As a millennial mid 30s menial worker, it's much harder for Gen Z, Alpha to find a job in their related fields. Unless they want to be a menial worker like me, its unconscionable they have to lie flat literally and wait for their resume to be accepted.

The longer they wait and age, it's harder for them to land a job.

Even if they do find a job, they are anxious daily when they'll be replaced by AI or immigrants due to Gov open leg policy 65% doofus voted.

This delay in their planning for housing, marriage, kids and old age retirement.

Nothing is certain today compared to our boomer parents time.

Can single buy hdb 4 room?

I've 550k in cash next year when I turn 35.

Do you think it's enough when say I want to purchase a resale hdb of 600-700k price tag excluding taxes?

Hope the Govt increase cooling measures on HDB in plus and prime areas to 15 years stay.

I'm an Oppo supporter. I support this move.

Property speculators/flippers please siam elsewhere and gamble.

Don't make working class people suffer due to your bloody greed.

Please make MOP HDB to 15 years in prime and plus areas also.

I'm a 35% voter and I'm a NSMen.

The local born youth who serve NS and those who on reservist duties should have their transportation cost borne by taxpayers for obvious reasons because the 2 years for NSF and 2-4weeks for reservist men is opportunity and time cost especially in SG where job survival is crucial and job placement is getting harder due to AI and hordes of immigration thanks to doofus 65%.

If Govt intended for their own ministers to get salary increment, the boys young and old who serve and defend SG in peacetime should have their allowance increase.

Indranee, a single leads a workgroup to tackle the declining birth rate and family planning

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1J4k7BnCHc/

Recycle right issue - till today, no bottles/cans deposited since start of the month because the cans/bottles on shelf don't bear the barcode but bottles/cans without barcodes lay around our neighbourhood.

Cost of living issues - high rental/high cost of doing business/high taxes -> business closes -> workers laid off -> less spending -> economy as a whole affected

It's not even 1 year after 65% buffoons voted for them resoundingly.

Luckily I didn't vote for them.
