Why did YouTube push my video to an entirely different audience?
(NOTE: This isn't a question about why my impressions are low)
Now, I know my "niche" is fairly saturated (horror let's plays) and I don't get many views or even impressions to begin with (working on this), but on a recent video I posted a few days ago I only got 9 views and when I went to go look at impressions from YouTube suggesting my content (which were low at only 33), it all came from videos not even closely related besides the fact that it's gaming. It was like YouTube was pushing the content everywhere else and deciding to just stop after someone who was watching FIFA and Counter-Strike tournaments and goddamn GTA 6 leaks didn't click on a let's play of a horror game from 2017. I even saw a video on geopolitics in there.
Now, the thumbnail is bad, it's dark with almost no contrast besides the logo/name of the game being white, so the CTR wouldn't be great even if it was pushed to a better audience. But like, what? Am I misunderstanding how impressions work or did YouTube just do a goof? The name of the game is in the video title and it follows the same style as the rest of that series and the impressions AND views on those are not only higher, but pushed to an audience that might actually click on the videos.
