"Diana was signalling the undercurrent of sexuality in her persona” Camille Paglia on Princess Diana
This week's glittering image is a clip of Paglia (and a few others) discussing Princess Diana as a fairytale princess come to life, a mythological archetype, and an actual work of art. I am not sure where this clip is from or when it came out, but Paglia refers to Diana in the present tense so I would assume it is from the mid 1990s.
Paglia was also interviewed by Salon here on that dark day of August 31, 1997; she offers her insight into what happened between Diana, the paparazzi, and the royal family. It's an interesting read, as are all of Paglia's Salon articles.
