Change Daemons

Hey wondered if anyone in the community had a good proxy for change daemons for age of fantasy. I love the heavy magic and spellcasting but I'm not a huge fan of the eldritch/cosmic horror vibe of the gw tzeentch models or the opr models.

It's difficult because they are a little more specialized in their units especially horrors vs like if you have an elf army you could use them for high/dark/deep/wood elf armies if you wanted.

Just wanted to see what the community had as far as ideas or suggestions or if they knew of a line of minis that could fit.

Just as an FYI my main army I have been playing and collecting is saurians.

Fantasy houses

I'm planning on making a few fantasy houses and I have watched a lot of different YouTube videos with different material and techniques. I just want to see what is everyone's preferred ways of doing things. I don't plan on making the interiors playable because this is more for wargaming than rpgs just fyi.

- base or no base? And if you base do you just cut out the footprint of the building and out your walls up around it?

- texture rollers vs glueing bricks down?

- real wood or balsa wood vs foam for wood pieces?

- how do you do removable roofs? I know I said I didn't want to do playable interiors but I am planning on doing tinted windows with colored plastic and I have some battery tea lights I was going to put inside.

Any other tips are highly welcome as well!

Doors and Windows

Question for the more experienced crafters. When making buildings and doing doors and windows do you always cut the shapes out of your walls and then inlay your door or window piece, or do you build your door and windows and glue it directly to the wall without cutting the wall away?

To modular terrain or not to modular terrain...

So I have been doing some terrain crafting lately and have a few houses built, water features, some scatter like arches and pillars. I recently got turned onto rp archives modular terrain system but I do not have a proxxon and can't really rationalize getting one. My first attempt was not awful but was not consistent enough to fit together nicely even though I used a band saw with a fence and jigs to cut my pieces out.

I was planning on starting over but now I'm questioning whether I should even bother because I mainly use my terrain for wargaming. I could probably salvage the pieces I already made into some ruins or even non modular terrain.

Any insights or experiences from the community would be greatly helpful.

Solo campaigns?

Anyone played a solo campaign in skirmish or age of fantasy? I am a busy dad and a lot of my gaming time is solo play and I was thinking about trying to do a solo campaign with my different armies. Anyone ever tried this? If so any tips? I am not sure about tracking things or if I should have each army fight each other per mission?

Just wanted to post a project i came up with simply by chance when cleaning out the basement. Found an old damaged under pad for a rug made from felt and latex and it was perfectly 4x6 so I turned it into a double sided battle mat with some paint and glue.
