Anyone looking for a quick gig in Rosemont?

Hey! I am looking for a contractor who's willing to hand out flyers in Rosemont for an hour or two.

We are promoting a game and we'd like to distribute some materials outside the Don Stephens convention center at around ~8:00 AM on Saturday, 16 March 2026.

This gig would require you to pick up the flyers from a nearby print shop before heading to the site itself. You'd wear our t-shirt, hand out all the flyers, send us a couple photos, and get paid!

Interested? Please DM me here.

$200 CAD windfall. What should I gift myself with?

Hey all. I realised this morning that I'd significantly overbudgeted for a trip I took last month, to the tune of $700 CAD. I've decided the sensible thing to do is sock away $500 CAD in savings.

But the remainder? My 24th birthday is in two weeks and maybe I should get myself something. I'm honestly in the healthiest financial shape I've been in years (being employed post-graduation is awesome!) so I don't feel guilty getting myself something nice. It's just that I never budget for it.

$200 CAD. What should I get myself? I need ideas.

Hiring - Distribution for Video Game Promotion - One-time contract

I need help with distributing flyers to promote my upcoming game in San Francisco.

The entire thing should only take you an hour or two. It can be done at any in the next few days.

Here is the basic ask:

  • Pick up the printed posters from designated locations. (Either a print shop or mailed to you directly.)
  • Identify and select local bulletin boards or community boards for flyer posting.
  • Post two large, eye-catching flyers with QR codes per contractor.
  • Confirm flyer placement with photographic evidence.

We want to compensate you for your time and your local knowledge. The ideal freelancer knows where a poster could be put up with high traffic/low probability of it being taken down.

I was recently at a function in Berkeley. We went around in a circle saying our name, what we were working on, and our "AI Timeline".

Some people said 12 months, others said 100 years. But most responses were somewhere between 2 and 10 years.

What are they referring to exactly? Timeline until we hit "ASI" by some standard, or timeline until an apocalyptic paperclip-esque scenario?

I am more curious what people are even basing these numbers off of. The concept of "ASI" seems so nebulous to me, other than the one line definition of "better than all humans at everything". How is there such high variance among these very well-informed AI researchers?
