BN-2 Converstion Update

Just a lil update on the bn-2, in particular the PSU: after consulting with others on the GenOneDisaster Discord, I picked up this 15kV-20kV step-up generator and an 18650 18600mAh JST battery. I didn't check the dimensions, and look where it got me; the battery is huge, but that won't stop me, pics show a rough cad model of the psu/battery pack that will be mounted to a helmet, it features 2 small 1 mm TPU gaskets that i will have to outsource to get, 4 m3 hex nuts that are imbedded into the body, a slot for the two 20kv wires and a slot for a power switch that joins the jst connector to the psu

Better some than none

I recently came into possession of two Russian night vision devices
- An exported bn-2 (b-8c IIT)
- A Night Owl Nocx3
The bn-2 was purchased under the premise that it wasn't turning on; upon further inspection, the original PSU had corroded itself to death. So it's getting replaced. The goal with the bn-2 is to make a head-mounted binocular with a hard-wired helmet-mounted battery/psu pack. To add to that, I decided that the factory lenses that made it a 2.5x mag had to go; these are custom lens housings that have been modified to thread straight into the bn-2 (a very helpful person in the GenOnedisaster Discord supplied the original file). The lens stack that will be used can be found in a Fujian 35mm f1.7 C-mount CCTV lens. Photos also show a custom dovetail mount that tightens around the hinge, and a wire cover that will house where the positive connects to the existing wires

The Night Owl nocx has been stripped down to what I deemed the valuable parts (Just the IIT and lenses; IIT shown in picture); the handheld is going to become a mono unit that can be mounted to a helmet or held separately. It will sport the same custom lens housing as the one shown on the BN-2; possible additions are a 17mm Plossl optical lens, if I decide not to use the 12mm ocular that came with it. Mono will evidently take longer due to designing around a PSU and battery space that will be present in the handheld

I'll try to keep updates at each major step, as well as uploading all files for free on Maker World when I'm content with all the design choices.

Another one

New T238 can for the collection, based on the Banish 223. Very minimal support is needed for the end cap; it has a tool for the end cap and, ofc, fits the T238 Nano.

All designs will be uploaded to MakerWorld after I can get test prints done

t238 tracer updates plus a model update

Pet sitting out at a ranch till the 10th, got bored and decided to download Fusion on my laptop and fix/make some models, which led me down the rabbit hole of learning how to make custom threads in Fusion's XML files
This post includes a couple of models

  1. The most recent post, my design of a t238 nano suppressor, got rid of the pin system and was remade with threads that (in CAD) have a .5mm difference, so the tolerance should work with most printers. Thanks to that, it also means it can be re-oriented to print without supports
  2. 3 more design
    a. a short BMD style design,
    b. a rc2 style cap/end with both a long and short body, the long sporting 3 baffles that keep the material cost down while adding some cool factor (as there to hold the tracer where it needs to be)
    and finally
  3. An updated design of the ka bro handguard, this one was requested by the previous owner, shortened it down and added a pit that sticks out, 250, 3 pieces so it can print with minor supports (for pic rail)

Yet Another airsoft Can

Nothing crazy about this one
110mm long, designed to have an easy-to-remove tracer
The intended tracer is the T238 Nano
More will come at some point in the future

Digital Nvg PCB update

Found a friend who has experience with pcbs, gave me some advice, did some more research on parts
esp32-p4 module, 30pin mipi for screen, 22 pin mipi for camera, 2 msall buttons for boot and reset, type c for external power and programming, and a on/off switch. Still working on the wiring and spacing, but a lot further than i though i was going to get.

Custom Pcb help

Designing a custom Digital Nightvision and have run into the issue of there being no good PCB on the market for my use case, so I came to Reddit to ask if I could get any help designing one that could be used for such. I'm basically looking for a pcb with SOM + csi2 + dsi + power. Feed from an IMX462 camera gets fed through and processed onto a MIPI DSI IPS TFT round screen that is 320p

Sorry if this goes against this community's guidelines, found another that was basically no questions unless it's reviewing your design.

B.R.O improvements

got sick of my bro sitting on my wall with no barrel, so I decided to do something about it
- 1 piece sd style handguard that threads right on, replaces the outer barrel, and is designed to hold the hop-up in place + a pic bridge to hold it aligned with the upper (not shown in image
- tdc hopup (wip) designed to use the OEM bucking, orings, adjustment cap (for retention), and c-clip
- solid buffer replacement that takes it from 11g to 28g
