Is My Laptop Really Bricked??
I recently moved my SSD from my desktop computer (Compaq elite 8300) to my laptop (Dell e6220) after upgrading the desktop ssd. All went well except that I got an error message that a GParted backup file was corrupted, but the primary file was ok and would be used.
Still. I wanted to correct the issue even though it seemed minor, so I asked Google for a solution.
Three hours of following Goggles suggestions including typing lots of terminal command, taking the entire laptop apart to reset the CMOS battery, putting the laptop back together, and the laptop no longer boots past the Dell logo screen, nor will it boot to BIOS.
Google AI now advises that it has no more advice and that my laptop had experienced a catastrophic motherboard failure.
Is there anyway to salvage the laptop?
