Replace/attach seats

I accidentally broke the rear seat off my canoe on my last trip. It looks like the other seat didn't break off because my son is so skinny. If I sat on it, I'm sure it would also break off.

It looks like there was a plywood hanger that was attached via fiberglass straight from the manufacturer, but the ends weren't covered by the fiberglass and they rotted out.

I'm looking for advice about attaching new seats. I'm happy to take new/better photos.

I hope to keep it inexpensive and DIY, realistically I'm probably only going to take it on 2-4 more 3hr trips max, unless somehow my kids fall in love with it.
