Pesticides sprayed around my daphnia/greenwater/algea buckets.

Pesticides sprayed around my daphnia/greenwater/algea buckets.

I live in an apartment and was not told that pest control would be coming to spray the buildings yesterday. They sprayed all around the buckets I use to grow greenwater, daphnia, mosquito larvae, and algea for my snails. So far the daphnia (which are right next to the greenwater bucket) seem fine, but all my mosquito larvae (in my algea-growing buckets) are dead. If the daphnia don't die in the next several days, is it safe to assume they are okay to keep feeding to the fish? (They are always rinsed first)

Im actually so upset, I have spent SO much time getting these cultures going/thriving.

Selectively breeding bettas AGAINST tumors?

Is anyone trying to selectively breed bettas to NOT have tumors? I did my research before getting my betta, and knew that they could be prone to tumors. I didn't notice a tiny spot on my guys side until after I got him home, and in only 2.5 months it has gone from a teeny speck to this. This is my first betta, and my first proper aquarium in 8+ years, and I'm so attached to him. The fact that it is growing SO fast has me worried sick.

Is there anyone out there trying to breed tumor-free bettas? I'm a canine behaviorist and it seems like you would do it similar to how you'd breed against diseases in dogs. Pick slightly older animals with no history or family history of the issue, and breed those.

I'm curious if anyone knows more about this

Is this a tumor or something else? Please help

On the day I got him I noticed a very small bump on his side. Eventually it got a little larger, then an entire scale came off. Then it seemed to be healing, so I was hoping that was the end of it. But the scales in that area became extra-irridescent, and the irridescence keeps spreading. And now it seems to be a raised bump.

Potentially relevant info: he was an import from Thailand, I got him from a betta show on the border of Germany/Switzerland. He's been super active and otherwise healthy since day 1, this fish doesnt seem to know the word "stress." Even on the car ride home from the show he was totally chill, no signs of stress (i.e. agitation or fin clamping).

I haven't tested his water recently, because every time I have it's well within normal/healthy ranges for a betta. His tank is so heavily planted that I'm not worried about his water quality at all at this point. I regularly add cattapa leaves/tannins.

Tankmates are just some snails and two Amano shrimp (who he has recently started bullying, might have to move them out)

Anyone know what this is? Is it a tumor or something else? Is there anything I can do? :(

45 liters/12 gallons. Hades loves all his plants, he's constantly exploring them. He also likes to tuck himself under the crypt leaves at the front which is so cute I could cry

For some reason tbe photos are out of order, I think you can figure out which is before and which is after tho lol

First photo is the day I got him, second is a month or so later, third is today (about two months with him now). Photo 4 is within the last couple weeks & photo 5 is him in his tank today.

It started as a tiny bump on his side, then it looks like the problem scale just came off one day (photo 2, right before it fell off. There was NOT a hole underneath, thats just a shadow from the light). And now it looks like this. The scales are flat now, but different colored, and it's now multiple scales that have a different color. Including some kind of brown-ish color to them?

Any idea what could be going on? He's otherwise perfectly healthy, in fact he's gotten bigger and his fins have grown like crazy since I got him. No signs of stress, ever.

Eats very well, almost exclusively live food (right now mostly mosquito larvae and daphnia).

Don't know the tank parameters, haven't checked recently. Every time I have in the past, everything is well within healthy range. Really not worried about his water quality with all the plants in there.

Tank is 45 liters (~12gal), kept at 26°.

He doesnt even seem to notice this, and it doesnt bother him at all. Never flashed against objects or anything like that.

Anyone seen something like this before? The fact that it keeps changing is what worries me.
