My combo. I finally got my Beninese passport 🎉
After quite a bit of administrative paperwork, I finally received my Beninese passport!
Born to a Congolese father (Brazzaville) and a Beninese-Congolese mother, and having been naturalized as a Canadian citizen myself, I already held Canadian and Congolese passports. I was just missing the last piece to complete the collection.
I started the enrollment process in June 2026, and it was issued in July. It's worth noting that getting a passport for the first time takes much longer than a renewal (which is now way faster and done entirely online).
Going forward, Beninese citizens abroad no longer need to travel back to the country to renew their passports: the process is done directly online via the Epass / Service Public BJ platform.
In my case, since it was my first time getting one, it took a bit longer due to the waitlist for processing the application after enrollment, and then for issuance.
I’m really happy to have received my Beninese passport after being patient, and I wanted to share my joy with all of you—whether you're back home or in all four corners of the world!
GOD BLESS 🙏
