UPDATE: to clarify, the perpetual calendar pin DOES spin! I should have posted a video. I can post a link to a video if that's allowed.
The calendar pin has TWO metal discs. The bottom disc has numbers 1 through 31 to account for all the days in a month. The top disc displays the months, sunday through saturday, and the color wheel. The top disc is the part that spins.
The color wheel is a decorative touch, but also represents the changing seasons throughout the year. Each color dot on the wheel marks the start of a new season.
The pin was inspired by antique perpetual calendars. I’ve always found them to be beautiful and wanted to make my own version of one.
