Hi all,

Always wanted to try playing but was too intimidated because everyone my age who plays has been doing so since they were, like, 9. Watching this world cup has made me finally decided to just dive right in and joined a coed rec league (no women only leagues around me). I've been watching youtube videos to learn rules and practicing ball control and drills at home. Any tips or advice?

How competitive was it? I played varsity in high school about 20 years ago....haven't played since. Was wanting to join a women's team but unsure of how serious they all take it and it doesn't look like they do practices, only games?

Specifically the south suburbs.
