HO and its effects on posture

My dad 63 years old recently got injured with a CCS he is recovering good in Physiotherapy and occupational therapy he has many developments since injury
He can pull and push his legs and move them up

But recently the physiatrist said to him he has HO which is effecting his posture that’s the reason he is leaning towards one side the doctor prescribes bisphosphonat weekly once after use of Indomethacin

but trunk balance is difficult for him due to bone growth says the OT person he was scared of the news he heard

Does HO is common in spinal cord injury patients?
Does it effect them to walk or progress further?
What are the treatment options for that? And can it be stopped with medication?
What are your experiences?
Please share me your experiences with the same problem!!

What are your thoughts about Holly artificial kidney

Google says it might be available to us by 2030 but I guess I’ve heard about this since a long while back.
Eventhough it’s available when will a person afford it ?
Human trails are not done yet but they claim that within 2030 it will be available in socialmedia platforms

Due to advanced AI technology will it be available quickly?
What role does AI plays in devoloping this device?

I’m just curious when such a thing is available for all of us what will the Pharma industry do ? As many CKD patients will stop buying the medication and they will have a kidney implant !! I also heard that the kidney implant doesn’t require immunosuppressants in some article

what do you guys think? Anyone knows about this artificial kidney more detailed ? Do you also think that it’s going to change the life of all of us ?

Center cord syndrome patient with one side weakness trying stand with some assisted table in physiotherapy sessions

What are your experiences or what helped you most while trying to stand with supporting table with support at knees legs and hip
my dad could really stand only for 20 minutes and then his left leg would give him the trouble and he leans forward
My concern is also about how do we know if he is getting the correct PT and OT he needs ?
Daily they do the same stretches, cycling and standing and then some OT he tries and does a few on his own when he is at home but most of the time he is tired and sleep whenever possible!!
They don’t advice him to wear braces or anything all they say is he has spasticity and that’s the only reason for my dad and advice him to undergo one more OP for a baclofen pump… my dad is not ready to undergo another surgery..is it that necessary for every patient?
Do any of the patients used any devices or equipments which helped you stand for longer periods and walk in later Pt sessions with one leg weakness?
By the way he is c4 injured Asia must be D or C last time it’s C but now he can move against gravity and it’s 2 months after intense pt and ot for the first 3 months he had no treatment due to his medical stabilization

My father 63 years old CCS fell down this January he is getting PT regularly but the thing is he doesn’t sleep at night after vigorous PT sessions he says he’s having hell lot of pain my mom is currently taking care of him but he is waking up in the middle of night and she can’t get proper sleep and in the morning she takes care of him every now and then
She says she is very tired and dad does it every day and night asking her to keep his legs up and down or shifting his positions but she does everything he asks
he got injured in USA in his trip he need to go back to his hometown back in 2 days then he gets 24 hours of nursing assistance but people who are providing don’t check in the midnight as they also have other patients to take care
My dads says to me that he needs such assistance to copeup with unbearable pain he tries to not wake her up but he should do that bcos he has no other option
My mom says dad can’t bear any kind of pain and as I’m trying to convey her those people really have unbearable pain she asks me not to say anything like that to dad bcos he keeps that in his mind and feeling the pain my sister supports her who is currently taking care of my parents now in USA she invited them to visit her newly born daughter and my dad fell down there
I don’t know whom to blame I asked my mom to have some patience and make it a routine that she will wake up In the night as I feel sorry about my dad I’m far away from them and seeing them quarrel in this situation makes it worse for anyone she is encouraging him in the beginning but she is really tired now
I ask them to be happy even in a suffering phase as it creates happy environment for both of them he will soon walk and be independent I say this to both of them
What do you guys did in the beginning phase when you do vigorous PT sessions and later do you get pain that someone needs to change your posture every now and then ?
How do you copes up with severe pain and how do we make them understand that it’s just a phase in life that it will go away one day it’s exhausting I wanted to do something but me and my sister needs to work to support them in this situation that’s the reason we can’t go and take care of them in our home country my dad stopped trying as he is having severe back pain
