Has anyone else gotten worse anxiety when their levels got in range?

So my levels are finally in range, my T3 is slightly elevated, but my PCP says that shouldn’t be causing the anxiety. It used to be just social anxiety where I would clam up and not be able to talk, but now I’m getting panic attacks from socializing. Starting Trintellix 5mg for anxiety when my prescription gets here, because I am debilitated with anxiety right now. I went on vacation with extended family recently and was a nervous mess, could barely talk to people let alone hold eye contact.

I’ve been on levo since February of this year. Is this still in the ride it out period? I’m just really discouraged and hopeless right now. My mental health is shit.

Fatigue and brain fog still so bad even with normal labs

Hi all, so I had a really bad hyper incident on 112mcg dose, lasted about two weeks. Really bad anxiety, panic attacks multiple times a day, couldn’t eat because of the nausea, had to be out of work for a week, etc. My doctor lowered my dose of levo back down to 75mcg, which I felt great on before. But now I feel like I’m back at square one with my symptoms. It’s been about two months since the hyper incident, my fatigue and brain fog have been so bad. So bad to where they’re affecting my mental health. My doctor recommended that I get a therapist because I was telling him about how depressed and anxious I still am. So yeah, I had the therapist, and I confided that I was passively suicidal because I couldn’t really see a future I can enjoy, and wouldn’t mind not waking up. I literally think of doing something fun or exciting, and I get that anxious pit in my stomach wondering if I won’t be able to handle it. I love traveling and trying new things, which makes me feel even worse about the future.

The past 2 weeks have been better in the depression department, but it really sucks to have the brain fog and fatigue back after feeling really good when I first started taking levo. I don’t have energy to work out, which historically has been an outlet for my anxiety. The anxiety makes it hard to fall asleep, so I’m not sleeping great. I don’t have the energy to do the hobbies I enjoy, or hang out with the animals and people I love. So everyday I wake up, tired, fatigued, with brain fog, anxious, and have a very cognitively and interpersonally demanding full time job.

Has anyone else had this experience before? It would be nice to hear that I just have to wait it out and it’ll get better. My doctor made it seem like it is just a waiting game to feel better and level out. Got offered Zoloft and some other anxiety medication that I wasn’t comfortable starting. My normal provider is out sick right now, so I had somebody new, which could also be contributing.

I know a lot of this is a rant, so, lol, TLDR: went hyper about two months ago, doc lowered my levo dose, but now I feel hypo with normal labs

Anyone ever had luck with no meds and iodine supplementation?

So I started with my TSH being 9.6, normal T3 and T4, with symptoms I’ve had for as long as I can remember. So when I first started my levothyroxine I felt great overall, one depressive episode going from 50mcg to 75mcg but it went away relatively quickly. But the jump from 75mcg to 112mcg hit me like a truck. I’ve made another post about it. Panic attacks, nausea, hopeless feeling about the future. My doc lowered my dose back down to 75mcg thankfully, which I felt the best on initially. I’ve felt better and I’m back to work, but I’m going on week 2 of random panic attacks and a whole lot of Xanax. So has anyone had any luck by just supplementing iodine? I’ve only ever bought sea salt, don’t really like seafood, but I have always loved eggs and dairy. My doc said iodine supplementation can make me worse and it’s unlikely that I’m deficient. I have an appointment next month with him and I’ll be asking about this again to him as well. But I am feeling very hopeless right now, so I’m considering different ideas. I really don’t want to go through this again if my dose ever needs to be adjusted. For supplements I do take vitamin D & K & calcium, iron & vitamin C usually 4-6 hours after my morning levo. My ferritin and iron were borderline low but within normal range.

Horrible side effects after upping my dose, but my TSH is finally normal

Hi all, title says it all, got up to 112mcg from 75mcg which seems like quite a jump to me. So I ended up going on a cruise the first week I started that dose, and I’ve been on cruises before with no issues, which makes this so weird. But I was so terribly seasick the entire time I barely left bed all week. The cruise doctor did said it may be from the medication dose change. This was also coupled by extreme anxiety/panic attack symptoms whenever I left the cabin to try and get any sort of relief. So when I get back, I’m fine for about 2 weeks, actually feel great. But then I start getting these horrible anxiety attacks, extremely nauseous, but can’t throw up, some diarrhea too. One of these attacks just happened when I was eating, 2 happened in the middle of conversations with my coworkers. But yesterday was the worst, 4 AM. I woke up super cold twitching all over, and so restless and couldn’t get any relief from anything. Walking, laying in silence, shower, scrolling on my phone, sitting there tapping my legs, etc. At one point I was so cold I made a bath sat in it and then immediately had to get out because I got so hot I and thought there were bugs in the water. The whole morning was me just walking around pacing or sitting down randomly, going back-and-forth from hot and cold. The whole time I was nauseous which made me even more anxious. What finally helped as I went outside and fell asleep on the lanai couch. Thankfully, I had a telehealth appointment scheduled that day, and the doctor was very understanding. He was talking about upping my dose because my TSH was just becoming normal. But I told him straight up. I don’t wanna up my dose because I felt best on the 75mcg. Thankfully, he was very understanding, agreed to lower my dose back to the 75mcg and got me a script for Xanax three times a day until all this subsides.

So to my main point, today I woke up with that same an anxious nauseous feeling that I know was going to spiral into what happened yesterday, so I only took the Xanax, and I completely skipped my levothyroxine, because I could not have another day like that. So I guess what I’m asking is, is it OK that I skipped that one dose? Generally what I’ve read online is that the half life is about two weeks and I should be fine. I already feel so much better just from skipping this one dose. I agree this is something I should’ve asked him during the telehealth appointment, but I was still in that very anxious state and it was very hard to talk.

Edit: my T3 and T4 were normal my last lab check a few days ago

Edit edit: I am diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, I thought I had posted this on a Hashimoto exclusive page lol
