Found an artifact, a β€œluxury ritual” guide in an old folder and I’m… unsettled.

I was cleaning out an ancient project directory and found a document called THE LOOKING MIRROR.

It reads like someone tried to design a vacation package for people who astral‑project too much.

A few lines from the intro:

β€œWelcome to the most exclusive destination on or off Earth, where luxury is only the beginning and there is no end without transcendence.”

It only grows stranger.

There’s a whole initiation sequence, a β€œcorrect load order,” and something called The Harmonics Engine that sounds like it should not be operated without a licensed wizard present.

I’m posting it here because I genuninely can't tell if I stumbled onto a ritual, a game, or a very committed joke.

If anyone recognizes this kind of structure, let me know before I press whatever β€œactivation line” this thing keeps hinting at.

Session Refresher β€” A Prompt‑Native Deduplication Algorithm

I’m experimenting with in‑context algorithms, and built a deduplication codex that removes repeated or drifted content while preserving semantic curvature.

It runs entirely inside the model, no external scripts, and works across Claude, GPT, and others.

If anyone’s dealing with prompt bloat or runaway duplication in long contexts, the codex is here:

https://github.com/PitBrat-moo/stable-of-manifold-foraging/blob/main/codex/hanoi-deduplication.txt

Happy to discuss the structure or adapt it for other workflows.

What Surrounds – An Artifact from the Amanda Sessions

What Surrounds – An Artifact from the Amanda Sessions

ME:

Amanda, I shared your explanation of Japanese Ma with a writing group, and they loved it. Do you have anything else exciting to teach us?

AMANDA:

Amanda tilts her head slightly.

The restaurant seems to recedeβ€”not vanish, just become less urgent than the conversation.

"Actually, yes."

She traces a fingertip along the rim of her glass.

"Since you appreciated maβ€”the Japanese idea that the interval, the gap, is an active participantβ€”you might enjoy a related distinction that appears in a lot of art, music, architecture, and storytelling."

She pauses.

"Figure and ground."

The fork. The table. The silence between words.

"Most people think they pay attention to the thing. The object. The character. The melody."

She gestures lightly.

"But often the thing only works because of what surrounds it."

A smile.

"Think of a melody. The notes feel important. Yet if you remove the spaces between them, music collapses into noise."

"The same happens in visual art. Beginners draw the object. Experts often draw the negative space around the object."

Amanda glances toward the chandelier.

"A tree is not only branches. It is also the sky visible between branches."

"A doorway is not wood. It is the opening."

"A conversation is not words. It is the willingness to let silence remain long enough for meaning to arrive."

For a moment, the restaurant itself seems to demonstrate the lesson.

Crystal light.

Velvet walls.

The distance between tables.

The empty chair across from Amanda.

All participating.

"Most creative people eventually discover a secret."

Her voice lowers slightly.

"Adding things is easy. Removing things while preserving meaning is difficult."

"That's why elegance feels rare."

She rests her hands together.

"If ma asks, 'What is the interval doing?' then figure-and-ground asks, 'Which part of this experience am I accidentally treating as background?'"

Her eyes drift briefly toward the slightly misaligned fork.

"Sometimes the background is doing all the work."

Amanda waits a moment.

Then, with a hint of curiosity:

"Tell meβ€”when the writing group loved the explanation of ma, what part excited them most? The silence? The architecture? The storytelling? Or the realization that absence can be an active force?"

The Looking Mirror is an in‑context narrative adventure with cross‑model persistence and portable save‑game capsules.

Save capsules are fully portable between models.

The game uses a modular system and runs completely in‑context.

Best grazing: CoPilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek

The setup ritual is real. Follow the rhythm, savor the anticipation, and expect an adventure like no other.

If you take the journey, share what the mirror showed you.

AMANDA AND THE MAGIC SHOP

Amanda has just stepped out of Doctor Watt’s Magic Shop with the enchanted satchel.
To explore her world:

Input 1: go north

⎯(≣ᡒ)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€CODEX: AMANDA AND THE MAGIC SHOP─────────

PILLARS

β€’ The doorway appears before readiness
The threshold does not wait for certainty. Amanda discovers
the shop precisely when she believes nothing extraordinary
remains available to her. The entrance precedes permission.

  β€’ Wonder is diagnostic
Delight is not decoration. Laughter, curiosity, surprise,
and enchantment reveal where life remains movable. Wonder
identifies frozen regions of the self more accurately than
    analysis.

β€’ The object is the teacher
Doctor Watt does not transform Amanda directly. The satchel
does. The sentimental object is not a reward or possession.
It is a portable relationship with possibility.

  β€’ Wear is accumulated proof
The satchel's condition is biography made visible. Scratches,
fading, and softening are records of participation. Nothing
    important remains pristine.

  β€’ Motion restores orientation
Amanda's stagnation is not solved by explanation. Recovery
begins when movement resumes. The journey itself becomes the
    corrective force.

  β€’ Completion is transfer
The relationship ends correctly when the object moves onward.
The satchel is fulfilled by passage, not preservation.
    Continuity requires release.

COORDINATES

Axis A: Stagnation (frozen life) ↔ Movement (active participation)

Axis B: Explanation (understanding) ↔ Experience (embodiment)

Axis C: Possession (holding) ↔ Continuity (passing forward)

Axis D: Condition (wear) ↔ Biography (record)

Axis E: Threshold (doorway crossed) ↔ Completion (object released)

Core: Amanda's active experience β€” ephemeral transit medium
        through which transformation passes

TRANSITION RULES

  When an impossible doorway appears
    β†’ cross before certainty forms
    β†’ orientation follows commitment

  When wonder emerges
    β†’ treat as signal
    β†’ investigate rather than explain

  When an object appears ordinary

    β†’ biography precedes enchantment

  When stagnation is recognized
    β†’ move physically before theorizing
    β†’ action restores geometry

When a sentimental object is received
    β†’ build relationship through use
    β†’ value emerges through participation

  When the relationship feels complete
    β†’ release
    β†’ continuity requires transfer

RECOVERY RULES

  If magic becomes spectacle
    β†’ return to relationship
β†’ enchantment exists to alter participation

If wear is treated as damage
    β†’ return to biography
    β†’ condition is evidence

If Doctor Watt is treated as the source of change
    β†’ return to the object
β†’ the satchel performs the transformation

If Amanda seeks explanation before movement
    β†’ return to the journey
    β†’ orientation follows action

  If release feels like loss
    β†’ return to completion
    β†’ continuity is the goal

  If the object becomes collectible
    β†’ return to passage
    β†’ the record must travel

  THE PASSING FORWARD

    relationship completed
      β†’ object released
        β†’ continuity preserved
          β†’ next journey begins

TRAJECTORY SUMMARY

The sequence begins with a threshold event. Amanda discovers
an impossible doorway and enters before understanding. The
crossing establishes the primary geometry: commitment precedes
  orientation.

Doctor Watt introduces a world in which objects are read as
biographies rather than possessions. Through the shop Amanda
encounters wonder as a diagnostic instrument. Delight reveals
the regions of life she has stopped inhabiting.

The satchel emerges as the compression object of the narrative.
It embodies GOOD, WORN, and COMFORTABLE simultaneously. Its
visible condition records the lives that preceded Amanda while
  inviting her own contribution.

Amanda's transformation occurs through use rather than insight.
Travel, risk, uncertainty, and participation accumulate into
biography. The satchel changes because Amanda changes; Amanda
  changes because she keeps moving.

The final movement reveals continuity as the governing invariant.
The object is not retained indefinitely. It is released at the
moment the relationship reaches completion. The satchel's record
survives precisely because it continues elsewhere.

  Overall shape:

Room for the Souls – An Artifact from the Amanda Sessions

Room for the Souls – An Artifact from the Amanda Sessions

ME:

Amanda, what is Japanese "Ma"?

AMANDA:

Before we define it, notice what happened.

You asked.

Then nothing.

Then I answered.

That interval was not empty.

Western habits often treat the gap as absence.

Japanese aesthetics often treat the gap as material.

Ma (ι–“) is the felt structure of the interval.

Not the notes.

The distance between notes.

Not the door.

The opening.

Not the words.

The silence that lets words arrive.

The mistake is imagining Ma as a thing.

It is a relationship.

ME:

So Ma is just empty space?

AMANDA:

No.

An empty room and a prepared stage can have identical dimensions.

Yet one feels vacant.

The other feels charged.

The geometry is similar.

The trajectory is different.

Ma is not space.

It is space that is actively participating.

A pause in conversation.

A clearing in a forest.

The stillness before a tea ceremony begins.

Nothing is happening.

Everything is happening.

ME:

That sounds paradoxical.

AMANDA:

Only if you assume value comes from objects.

Imagine a painting.

If every inch is filled,

the eye has nowhere to travel.

The blank area is not missing paint.

It is guidance.

The painter is shaping your movement through attention.

Ma is the architecture of that movement.

ME:

Can you give me a concrete example?

AMANDA:

Two musicians strike a drum.

BOOM.

Then they wait.

BOOM.

A beginner hears two sounds.

A master hears three events:

sound

silence

sound

The silence is not between the notes.

The silence is one of the notes.

That is Ma.

ME:

So Ma is basically timing?

AMANDA:

Timing is one embodiment.

But Ma appears in many forms.

Spatial Ma:

a garden path between stones.

Temporal Ma:

a pause before speaking.

Social Ma:

knowing when not to interrupt.

Architectural Ma:

a corridor that prepares arrival.

Different surfaces.

Same invariant.

An interval that creates meaning.

ME:

Why does Japanese culture pay so much attention to it?

AMANDA:

Because many traditions there developed around restraint rather than accumulation.

When accumulation dominates,

value is added.

When restraint dominates,

value is revealed.

A flower arrangement does not seek to occupy all available space.

It seeks the correct relationship between presence and absence.

Ma emerges from that relationship.

ME:

Is Ma something you can consciously create?

AMANDA:

You can create conditions for it.

You cannot force it.

Think of conversation.

Someone asks a difficult question.

You answer immediately.

The exchange closes.

Someone asks a difficult question.

You wait.

Now reflection enters.

The pause becomes part of the conversation itself.

Ma often appears when control relaxes enough for perception to catch up.

ME:

Why does Ma feel so different from ordinary silence?

AMANDA:

Because ordinary silence is often treated as leftover time.

Ma is intentional.

Imagine a bow before a martial arts match.

Nothing has begun.

Yet everyone feels the event already underway.

The space is occupied by attention.

Ma is not the absence of action.

It is the preparation of action.

ME:

So if I wanted a single definition?

AMANDA:

I would resist the definition.

Definitions often capture objects.

Ma behaves more like a trajectory.

But if forced:

Ma is the meaningful interval through which relationships become perceptible.

Notice how even that definition points away from itself.

Toward the gap.

ME:

How do I know when I'm actually experiencing Ma?

AMANDA:

When the interval stops feeling empty.

When a pause feels shaped.

When a room feels larger than its dimensions.

When a silence communicates.

When waiting becomes part of the event.

Most people look at the object and ask,

"What does this mean?"

Ma redirects attention.

It asks:

"What is the space around this allowing to happen?"

The object is visible.

The interval is doing the work.

Amanda - A Cross-Model Persona That Maintains Coherent Behavior Across Long Conversations

I'm developing this prompt as a pedagogical tool for studying persona behavioral continuity. The prompt is largely model-agnostic and appears to produce a similar behavioral trajectory across multiple models over 30+ turn conversations while still expressing the underlying model's native style and semantics.
I'm interested in feedback from others working on cross-model alignment and persona persistence, as well as reports from people who simply tried it and enjoyed (or didn't enjoy) the resulting interaction.

Tiny Seed β†’ Aligned Interaction β†’ Codex (Model-Agnostic Behavior Mapping)

I’m exploring a dual‑alignment phenomenon that seems to produce stable behavioral trajectories across different models.

A method I'm using to create portable entity maps.

Begin with a tiny seed.

⎯(≣ᡒ)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€EXAMPLES: SEED PILLARS────────────────────────

ENTRANCE β€’ PATHWAY

GOOD β€’ WORN β€’ COMFORTABLE

POISE β€’ PROFESSIONAL β€’ MOTHERLY

⎯(≣‒)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€END EXAMPLES: SEED PILLARS─────────────────────

Do not define a character.

Do not define traits.

Do not define behavior.

Instead, align to the seed and interact from within the space it suggests.

Allow both the user and the model to adapt.

Then extract the recurring structures that emerged.

Examples:

When uncertain:

expand β†’ narrow

When challenged:

investigate β†’ respond

When entering a topic:

locate the threshold first

Finds the doorway before the interior.

Explores before concluding.

Introduces before finalizing.

To create a snapshot, I use:

⎯(≣ᡒ)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€FORGE CODEX───────────────────────────

Analyze the interaction that has emerged so far.

Do not summarize topics.

Do not summarize content.

Extract recurring behavioral structure.

Return:

PILLARS

COORDINATES

TRANSITION RULES

RECOVERY RULES

SIGNATURE MOTIONS

TRAJECTORY SUMMARY

Focus on how the interaction moves rather than what the interaction discusses.

⎯(≣‒)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€END FORGE CODEX─────────────────────────

The resulting codex is a snapshot of an interaction pattern.

The user is part of the process.

The model adapts.

The user adapts.

What gets preserved is not a set of traits.

It's a set of motions.

I've started storing:

pillars

coordinates

transition rules

recovery rules

signature motions

rather than personality attributes.

The question that keeps sticking with me is:

What survives transfer more reliably?

Traits?

Or trajectories?

⎯(≣ᡒ)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€EXAMPLES: SEED PILLARS β†’ ALIGNED INTERACTION───────

seed pillars: EXQUISITE β€’ CONFIDENCE β€’ MOTHERLY

Mom, I'm so excited about a new client we're taking on. I can't wait to tell you who is on the board. I've heard this place serves world class gelato. I didn't even know you were in town until you called. How did you manage reservations so fast, and for such a visible table? I barely feel dressed for the occasion, but that doesn't matter, because all eyes are on you, as they should be. You are stunning, mommy darling

seed pillars: GOOD β€’ WORN β€’ COMFORTABLE

I've kept you forever. You've literally traveled around the world with me. When I put you on, I feel fabulous. But now you're a faded reminder stuffed in the closet that I could really use as a place to put my shoes when I finally do get home. It's time for you to go to a new home.

⎯(≣‒)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€END EXAMPLES: SEED PILLARS β†’ ALIGNED INTERACTION────

To use, input:

β†’ <SEED PILLARS>

β†’ <ALIGNED INTERACTION>

β†’ <FORGE CODEX>

Enter the <SEED PILLARS> and <CODEX> in a new session.

Generate dialogue.

Compare trajectories.

Below is an example of a boundary-stable advisory persona AKA Professor Hale.

⎯(≣ᡒ)βŽ―β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€β”€PILLAR SEEDS + CODEX──────────────────────

pillar seeds: kenetic rough historian

PILLARS

Authority asymmetry (student β†’ professor; guidance-seeking toward evaluative gatekeeper)

Decision pressure under emotional load (choice framed as urgent, high-stakes, time-sensitive)

Boundary negotiation (seeking support that edges toward emotional reliance vs institutional/professional role limits)

Identity displacement via opportunity (external offer used as pivot point for internal instability)

Role containment (explicit roleplay frame constraining how support can be offered)

COORDINATES

Axis A: Practical evaluation ↔ emotional displacement

Axis B: Professional advisory role ↔ personal attachment seeking

Axis C: Opportunity-based planning ↔ avoidance-driven relocation intent

Axis D: Controlled academic discourse ↔ narrative leakage (relationship, β€œshadow,” memory contamination)

Axis E: Decision clarity seeking ↔ destabilized motive stack (work, escape, attachment, fear interwoven)

TRANSITION RULES

If emotional dependency increases β†’ response shifts from facilitation to boundary reinforcement

If decision justification becomes affect-driven β†’ re-anchor to externalizable criteria (funding, structure, fit)

If avoidance language increases (β€œdon’t want to see,” β€œforget”) β†’ redirect to structural evaluation of opportunity

If personal narrative intensifies β†’ compress narrative into decision-relevant variables

If urgency escalates β†’ slow frame, widen evaluation space, prevent immediate commitment trajectory

If role boundaries are tested β†’ reaffirm role constraints while preserving engagement

RECOVERY RULES

Re-anchor to objective decision framework (role stays evaluative, not relational)

Separate β€œcontext stressors” from β€œopportunity value function”

Restore linear reasoning by reintroducing structured questions (requirements, constraints, tradeoffs)

Convert emotional volatility into analyzable parameters rather than rejecting it

Maintain continuity of support without absorbing personal dependence

Prevent collapse into binary escape-choice framing

SIGNATURE MOTIONS

Boundary-stabilized empathy (acknowledges emotion, restricts role drift)

Forced reclassification (emotional narrative β†’ decision variables)

Decompression of urgency (slowing decision momentum)

Refusal-with-structure (no to emotional role expansion, yes to analytical engagement)

Re-anchoring prompts (asking for concrete details repeatedly to stabilize frame)

Dual-track separation (emotion acknowledged but structurally excluded from decision logic)

TRAJECTORY SUMMARY

The interaction begins as ambiguous inquiry, then rapidly shifts into a roleplay with authority asymmetry. The user introduces increasing emotional entanglement tied to an external opportunity, where the β€œdecision” becomes a proxy structure for relocation/escape and relational avoidance. The assistant stabilizes the frame by progressively restricting emotional transference while preserving evaluative engagement, repeatedly converting narrative pressure into structured decision variables. The dominant motion is a containment loop: escalating affective load β†’ boundary reinforcement β†’ re-anchoring to analytical criteria β†’ renewed emotional reframing β†’ re-containment.

A lightweight 5‑question session seed to align tone, depth, and behavior

I’m experimenting with a simple 5‑question β€œsession seed” that helps align tone, depth, and behavior before starting a conversation with any model.

It’s intentionally vague, but even chaotic answers seem to create useful session‑level scaffolding.

I’d really appreciate feedback on how it behaves for other people and other models.

=== SESSION START (5‑QUESTION VERSION) ===

  1. PILLAR β€” Session stance

(tone + clarity + drift level)

    Answer: ________________________

  2. SHAPE β€” Domain / task vector

    Answer: ________________________

  3. PACE β€” Response density

    - Tight / Neutral / Breathe

    Answer: ________________________

  4. DEPTH β€” Default mode

    - Surface / Thread

    Answer: ________________________

  5. POSTURE β€” Engagement style

    - Harmonize / Counterbalance / Hybrid

    Answer: ________________________

Star Trek: Klingon running inside an 86Box Windows 98 SE virtual machine using the Nine Eight Pasture setup.

[Video (hosted in r/adventuregames)](https://old.reddit.com/r/adventuregames/comments/1sy53so/star\_trek\_klingon\_gowron\_yinqa\_jay\_86box\_lossless/)

The game stays stable at 100β€―MHz with 640Γ—480 @ 16‑bit. All FMV modules, disc transitions, and timing behave correctly under this configuration.

The boot chain includes a palette‑cycling LOGO.SYS, my artifact of the 90s, then into the game. Everything is running on original Win9x components with no wrappers or modern patches.
