[Profile Review] Can I get any T-20 Programs with my low GPA?

Aiming to apply for 2028/2029 admit. Want to know a general idea on what chances I would have.

My profile:

Btech in Non CS from IIT (mid level), India but minor in Computer Science

CGPA: 7.98/10 (This was top 5/50 students in our branch)

Work ex: Would have completed around 2.5 yrs at major US based MNC (in its cybersecurity team) as SDE

Research Paper: 1 software development related Paper under review, to be published by end of 2026

LORs: Can get 2 from College Professors and 2 from Industry leaders from the MNC

Will I be able to convert any T-20s to T-30s with this profile assuming I can get a good enough GRE and TOEFL score? Or am I being delusional here. And is there any way I can offset my low CGPA or explain it somehow? I still have almost two years to do whatever is in my ability to improve my profile (but while continuing with my job).

Also this seems like a question for out of this sub, but should I be focussing on other (non core cs) programs at top universities instead?

Thanks in advance for anybody who takes out time to answer this.

First 5k in 5 years!

I just completed my first 5k after 5 years. I remember last running a 5k when I was 17 at 100 kgs. Today I am 23 at 126 kgs. Have been doing jogging and walking splits for about 3 months slowly progressing. And finally today did 6 rounds of 5 min jogging 2 min walking and completed a 5k. I know the time is seriously bad but still I feel so proud of myself. This weight is coming off babyy

Looking for weight loss accountability buddies

Hey everybody,

I am a 23M office going guy who is severely obese. I have lost some weight before, but gained it back just as fast. I have gone through everything. I have had fitness coaches, training programs, went through calorie counting guides, literally everything. So I know I know HOW to lose weight. But I still don’t. I know what to do, but I stop doing it. So the one thing I have always struggled with, is accountability. I know I should have accountability and motivation from within and I do. But it fades away as I continue and I fall back to my old habits. I would have hired a fitness coach again but I know they have a lot of clients and they can’t keep me accountable everyday. So I am looking for similar people (2 people to be exact) as me, who knows what they have to do, how much they have to do but just need some accountability support. I want to do this as people who are suffering from the same things, will know whats at stake, and will also motivate others to stick to it as well. And when they are down, the others do the same for them.

How am I planning to do this:

We make a group ( 3 people) (can discuss which platform (whatsapp/telegram/Instagram) and everyday, religiously, fix up a time where we give our daily updates and have a very short discussion on what we did right/wrong. This will not take up more than 15 minutes of your day but will remind you of why we started and what is at stake, and motive each other to remain true to this process. We can discuss and keep this process anonymous as well (I would prefer not to, to build trust, but still can be done).

So please, people who are seriously interested and can believe in such a thing, dm me and we can get started as soon as possible. I can’t do much but really request trolls/haters to stay away as I am doing this for myself. This is not any advertisement/company sponsored post , neither will I ask any one to pay a single rupee for this. I only request those to join who feel like enough is enough, know their shit about what they need to do, and want a couple of similar people to do it together. So let me know.

Preferably in India/similar timezones.
