ISX15 temp gauge jumping, sensor or wiring?

Peterbilt 389 with an ISX15. The coolant gauge reads normal for ten minutes or so, jumps hot for maybe half a minute, then drops back. No coolant loss, smell, derate, or overheat shutdown. I cleaned the block ground and checked the sensor connector for corrosion. Wiggling the harness did not change it. I do not have the scan-tool temperature in front of me yet, so right now I only know what the dash is doing. Would you compare the ECM coolant value to the dash first, or go straight to checking the 5V reference, signal, and ground at the sensor?

A month in with the CIGA design Hunter, and the openworked dial still gets me

Impulse bought this openworked skeleton about a month ago and it's quietly become my daily. It's the CIGA design Hunter in steel, and with the openworked dial I love to watch the movement run. The rotor stays out of the way enough that you can still see most of what's going on, which was the main thing I wanted from a skeleton. The steel version has a bit of heft to it, but you'll get used to the weight pretty quickly.

Brightness ended up being way more impressive than I expected

Picked up the RayNeo Air 4 Pro during Prime Day and wanted to share my quick thoughts.

Before buying, I was mostly stressing about the fit and if they’d feel heavy on my nose after a while.

I tested them in a few different places over the last few weeks. At my desk in a brightly lit office, everything looked super sharp and totally normal to use. Even when sitting right by a sunny window, the image stayed surprisingly clear. I thought I'd have to squint my eyes to see anything, this was awesome.

On the other hand, when I turned off all the lights in my bedroom at night to lay back and watch stuff, I actually need to turn it down right away. Super easy to adjust though, so my eyes felt completely fine once I got it to a comfy level.

Has anyone else tried using theirs under different lighting conditions like this?

I raised concerns about my client's technical incompetence and their inconsistent decision-making to their higher-up. We had a serious talk. How do I negotiate my way into an advisory role from here?

My client's decisions have been awful. To be honest, the department they represent is very... challenging for someone new in this field. It has multiple sections, two "errand based" (Warehousing and Outsourcing) and one tech-based, the Quality Control of Incoming items (IQC).

I handle the IQC portion, and they lack the technical knowledge and expertise in this area. (They excel at warehousing and outsourcing).

One of their bad decisions was overriding my written non-conformity report. I explicitly stated in the document: "Despite these non-conformities, I approved them at the client's instruction."

Those parts led to issues. Serious ones. Realizing there was no hope of getting them to engage with the technical side of the project to make better decisions, I escalated this to their higher-up. I also mentioned that they had been failing to keep me informed, that I had no room for growth under this engagement, and that their decisions were endangering my position as the responsible party.

Their higher-up and I had a talk. A serious one.

He first came after my ego — said I think I know and do better than what really is, and that I need a snap to reality. He also told me that the one endangering my position is me, not the client.

At the end, he asked: "From everything you've told me, you want to be your client's advisor so they make better decisions — is that correct?"

I said, "Yes, exactly."

He said: "I usually tell vendors to stick with the contract and that the market outside is worse, but with you, I'll say this — don't see yourself as locked into this engagement. Look elsewhere. The best I can offer you here is the lead role on IQC. There isn't a position for what you're describing. Maybe it exists somewhere else."

I said: "No. I firmly believe in repairing rather than replacing. I'd rather fix myself than walk away from the environment."

He said: "Control of emotions and tolerance for ambiguity are traits of great leaders. Learn those."

The higher-up acknowledged what I bring to the table. I don't want to walk away. How do I negotiate from this position to formalize an advisory role or at least get more decision-making input on the technical side?

Moved to a bigger place and upgraded from the L40 Ultra to the L60 Ultra

Recently moved because of work and the new place is way bigger than my old apartment, so I ended up going from the L40 Ultra to the L60 Ultra. Honestly the L40 gave me almost no issues over the past year, but after a while I got tired of dealing with the TriCut brush maintenance.

So far the suction feels noticeably stronger, especially around rugs and edges, and the newer AI obstacle avoidance has been better too. I usually don’t fully clean up everything on the floor before it runs, but so far it hasn’t really gotten stuck on anything yet.

It’s also been pretty low maintenance overall. Besides emptying dirty water and refilling clean water, I barely think about it. Definitely feels worth the upgrade for a bigger place.
