For a new collector, are retired used sets worth it?

Hello,

My wife and I recently started building a small LEGO Harry Potter collection together, and we absolutely love building the sets as a couple.

Our collection is still growing, but we’re missing some of the retired sets. We now have the opportunity to buy Diagon Alley either:

- used for €300 (complete, good condition, including box and instructions)

or

- sealed for €500.

We would definitely build and display the set ourselves.

For people who bought used LEGO before:

If we completely take the set apart and rebuild it from scratch, does it still give a similar feeling to opening a brand new set?

And in your opinion:

Is the sealed experience really worth an extra €200?

Would love to hear your thoughts!
