It's been suggested that I consult the council.

Been a lurker here for a while. Posted these photos elsewhere and someone suggested i consult the council. The hairline is definitely receding but I have good coverage on the crown and back of the head. I am certainly curious.

I dislike TVs in restaurants and bars.

I wish restaurants and bars (and dentist offices now that i think of it) would stop putting a thousand televisions on every wall. I'm usually there with friends, a date, family, etc... and don't need the constant visual stimulation distracting me from interacting with them. If i'm there solo, I have my own screen to entertain me showing whatever I want (which is never whats on the restaurant TV.)

Its worse if the sound is on.

Nightime bike riders: please take steps to be more visible.

I work nights on the Westside. Every night I encounter bike riders in dimly lit areas wearing dark clothing. No reflectors or lights on their bicycles. Interstate closures are forcing us motorists onto other, more residential routes. Pritchard Road, Bulls Bay Highway, Wilson, etc.

Please for the love of God if you're going to ride a bike at least have lights on it.

Small collection from my grandfather

I received a collection of coins from my parents. They belonged to my grandfather. These are the ones that stand out to me as the most interesting. I've done some preliminary research and have an idea what these coins are, but am curious what the community can tell me about their condition and value.

Genuinely curious.

I've lived in Jacksonville for nearly my entire 49 years. I live in San Marco, I work a part time night shift on the Westside. So every weeknight at 10:30 i have to commute from A to B.

The construction projects have been going on for all of the three years I've been making this commute. Closed lanes, diverted traffic, new signage, new barriers, new paint.

Sometimes closing the entirety of I-10. Thank god for GPS and Google Maps I'd be completely lost trying to get to work on time.

I get it. Infrastructure work is necessary and the most logical time to do this is when the volume of traffic is the lightest.

What i do not understand, and would love better insight into is the current project that appears (as a layman) to be cutting random large square chunks of perfectly good highway pavement out, and replacing them.

Can someone with actual knowledge please explain what they are doing and why?
