So, Castle Ravenloft

My PCs are on their way to the final confrontation. They've actually managed to amass a small army of Barovians they've befriended along the way, so I'm inclined to run the next session using some third party wargame-ish rules as they all march toward the castle.

Obviously Ravenloft has an insanely well defended position in itself, but my question is: what do you think Strahd would do to put obstacles in the way of an approaching mob?

Edit: I don't think I made myself clear. The mob isn't intended to get into the castle, just to help real with whatever nonsense Strahd throws in their way along the road.

Strahd's last words

My campaign is heading into its final chapter, and so it got me thinking:

If/when your version of Strahd got to have a soliloquy after the final battle, or even just got to say his last words, what would he say?

I'm tossing up between him being defiant, and finally cracking a little.

Question about card transformations

If I have an Ancient card in my deck, like Neow's Fury, and then I hit an event that allows me to transform a card, what exactly can Neow's Fury transform into?

The wiki is a little vague on this. It reads:

>An Ancient card will transform into Rare, Uncommon, or Common card of its own class. This means that Neow's Fury cannot transform into Brightest Flame, but it can transform into Discovery.

What is Neow's Fury's "class", here? This sounds like it can't transform into a different Ancient card but it can transform into a Colourless shop card, which seems odd to me. When I bit the bullet and transformed it it turned into Panache, for what that's worth.

Had my first PC death today

Nothing much to say, I just felt like sharing 😁 the party had wandered down to Berez and picked a fight with Baba; the hut's consistent 20-30 damage per hit was too much for the party Warlock. And then their death saves were a 9 and a 1.

Baba + Skull + Hut is a truly lethal fight.

edit: here's the map with the aftermath:

Baba is here

Just excited to share that my players have just picked a fight with Baba.

My version of her is a little different since I've been integrating some player backstory stuff, so Baba herself isn't quite as fearsome. She's still powerful but is much more about annoyance and giving the players grief. They'll probably think it's an easy fight until she hops into the skull and activates the hut 😁
