I really hope I don't know you because that's gonna be really embarrassing for you
So weird I didn't know there was another Asplundh's family out there.

So weird I didn't know there was another Asplundh's family out there.
It’s easy to point the finger at Rinna for Garcelle implying a housewife said “keep race out of it” cus she’s the convenient, scorched-earth villain we all love to hate but when you step back and look at the actual behavioral patterns, that theory falls apart becauseeeee of how Garcelle behaved AFTER that season.
Garcelle’s Post-Season 11 Shift: Targeting Kyle Directly
If Garcelle truly believed Rinna was the one trying to silence her voice and suppress conversations about race, she would have ice-cold isolated her. But Garcelle went after Kyle with zero mercy as she rightfully spent Seasons 12 through 14 demanding transparency from Kyle, while hunting down the truth about her separation from Mauricio and her private life with Morgan Wade.
In Season 14, Garcelle went as far as exposing Kyle's manipulative, behind-the-scenes text messages to PK on camera. So no, Garcelle didn't treat Kyle like a neutral bystander. She treated Kyle exactly like someone who knew Kyle was hiding behind a carefully crafted PR shield. IMO it now reads like she was just trying to hold the protected loser accountable…she knew exactly what Kyle was capable of off-camera.
The Season 10 Charity Check Layout
The drink meeting Garcelle describes happened right before Season 11 started filming. Why would Garcelle have a pre-season meeting to "connect" with Rinna, an industry friend she had known for 20 years? She wouldn’t in this context???
But you know who desperately needed to connect with her? Kyle. At the Season 10 reunion, Kyle threw out that incredibly damaging accusation that Garcelle hadn't paid a $5,000 charity donation. Garcelle explained to Kyle’s face how dangerous that microaggression was... Kyle was panicking about her public image, something Rinna didn’t actually care so much about…even at her bleakest. Kyle’s always been the one who needs a private, off-camera drink to smooth things over and in this instance…doing so by saying “Can we just keep race out of it? It's an entertaining show” makes senseeeee cus she always takes the desperate attempt to protect her fake lifestyle bubble from heavy, real-world commentary.
The "Softening" Framework: Kyle’s Multi-Season Playbook
Once you realize Kyle views race conversations as a threat to the glamorous escapism of the show, her entire multi-season playbook makes sense in this context with Garcelle. Kyle doesn’t attack conversations about race loudly cus she softens them, translates them, or laughs them away behind the scenes to minimize the impact:
The Sutton Translation (Season 11): When Sutton dramatically cried that she "doesn't see color" to Crystal Kung Minkoff, Kyle stepped in as a PR shield. She ran to the confessionals to rewrite history, claiming: "What Sutton really means is she sees us all as equal." She literally policed Crystal’s experience to protect her white friend's image.
The Erika / Jax Incident (Season 12): When a drunk Erika Jayne screamed profanities at Garcelle’s 14-year-old son, Jax, Kyle sat on her couch the next day laughing, saying, "It’s not funny, but it is funny."She watered a deeply toxic, racially charged verbal attack on a Black child down to "Erika just letting loose and being genuine."
Policing Crystal’s Words (Season 12): When Crystal noted that Sutton’s comments carried a "dark" racial tone, Kyle aggressively interrogated her on camera, gaslighting her into silence because the word "dark" threatened the squeaky-clean image of the cast.
The Dorit Shield (Season 11): When Garcelle called out Dorit for using racially coded microaggressions like "attack" and "bully," Kyle immediately cut Garcelle off to insist Dorit just "talks too much" and that it had nothing to do with race.
The Munchausen Blueprint & The Final Exit
At the Season 11 reunion, Garcelle carefully stated, "Someone told me that you said..." It was a secondhand rumor. We know from Season 6 (Munchausen-gate) that Kyle’s favorite tactic is using a proxy thus her and LVP wanted Yolanda’s illness questioned, so they manipulated Rinna into saying the word "Munchausen" on camera so their hands stayed clean.
Kyle using the exact same play with Garcelle then makes sense that she made the comment privately to her, and when it leaked backstage, the whisper network likely shifted the blame onto the group's designated villain. Rinna was a willing shield for that alliance until the audience turned on her so severely she became a liability. (& THATS NOT TO DETRACT FROM THE SHIT RINNA HAS BEEN REACTIVE TO WITH GARCELLE ABOUT RACE)
This brings us to the Season 14 reunion, Garcelle was completely isolated having to deal with a group that refused to validate her experience. She walked off the set, called them "f*cking assholes," and quit the franchise because her spirit could no longer handle the unpaid emotional labor. And what did Kyle do? She immediately ran to the press to softly launch a defense, claiming she "texted Garcelle twice" to play the victimized, well-meaning friend one last time. Garcelle kept the housewife anonymous on Sirius because shes SMART and understands the power of Bravo's corporate machine. She couldn't name the protected queen of the network without massive professional blowback. So she gave us the timeline, she gave us the exact behavioral clues, and she left the breadcrumbs for us to realize that Rinna was just the loud distraction from Kyle’s dusty ass.
And no, this isn’t an in defense of rinna post either! Just that I think by now rinna would’ve copped to it cus eff it she already body shamed Sutton & called Garcelle fake in her book… so what does she gotta lose? Anyway I don’t know!
