Ways to interact with or read the Bible

In Psalm 119, there are so many different ways in which the Psalmist enjoyed or interacted with the Word! For example:

  • 1 Blessed are those whose way is perfect, / Who walk in the law of Jehovah.
  • 11 In my heart I have treasured up Your word / That I might not sin against You.
  • 16 I will take delight in Your statutes; / I will not forget Your word.
  • 31 I cling to Your testimonies; / O Jehovah, do not put me to shame.
  • 42 Thus I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, / For I trust in Your word.
  • 71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted, / That I might learn Your statutes.
  • 95 The wicked have waited for me in order to destroy me, / But I consider Your testimonies.
  • 97 Oh, how I love Your law! / All day long it is my musing.
  • 103 How sweet are Your words to my taste!
  • 161 Princes have persecuted me without cause, / But my heart stands in awe of Your words.
  • 162 I rejoice at Your word, / Like one who finds great spoil.
  • 173 Let Your hand be ready to help me, / For I have chosen Your precepts.

What are some of your favorite ways to read the Word or what has helped you enjoy it more?

Writing the Scriptures

Recently, a few brothers and sisters and I have been challenging ourselves to write out a book of the Bible! It’s been such an interesting experience so far. I’ve noticed little words and details that I’ve never really noticed before, and I feel like I’ve been able to enter into the feeling of the writer a little more too!

Have any of you ever tried writing out a book of the Bible? If so, how was your experience? Any tips or things you noticed along the way?

Semi-Annual Training on The Believers (1)

Praise the Lord for another glorious training this past week!! Feel free to share any enjoyment in the comments below, would love to hear everyone's portion of Christ.

I was especially impressed to see that, as believers, we are destined to become pillars in the Triune God! For this, we need to take the way of Philadelphia. The church in Philadelphia is the church that remains until the Lord's return, and in Revelation 3:11 one of its defining characteristics is that it held fast to what it had. This stands in striking contrast to Judges 2:10, where another generation arose that did not know Jehovah.

But what are we holding fast to? We hold fast to the unique New Testament ministry!

According to 2 Corinthians 3, this is the ministry of the Spirit, which deifies us by inscribing the Spirit as the divine ink into our being, making us living letters of Christ. It is also the ministry of righteousness (2 Cor. 3:9), in which Christ is not only our objective righteousness for our justification but also our subjective righteousness for our salvation in life (Rom. 5:10). Day by day, He is being embroidered into our being so that we would live Him out and express Him (cf. Psa. 45:13-14). Finally, it is the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18-21), through which God reconciles us to Himself. Having been reconciled, we are entrusted with the same ministry to shepherd others into this process, becoming pillars and entrances through which people may come to God (cf. 1 Pet. 5:1-4).

I also appreciated the picture in Exodus 26. There are pillars in the tabernacle supporting the screen at the entrance to the Holy Place and the veil leading into the Holy of Holies. The Recovery Version note says:

>"These pillars at the entrance of the tabernacle are evangelists, who declare to all that Christ died for their sins. The pillars within the tabernacle are those who experience Christ in a deeper way, who daily attach themselves to the torn veil, to the very Christ who was terminated in His flesh, and bear the testimony that they have been crucified with Christ (cf. Gal. 2:20). These two kinds of pillars provide entrances for sinners to be saved into God's dwelling place and then to be terminated so that they may come into God's Holy of Holies to enjoy God Himself in His fullness. Between the five pillars supporting the screen there were four entrances into the tabernacle, and between the four pillars supporting the veil there were three entrances into the Holy of Holies. The fact that the screen has four entrances indicates that God's dwelling place is open to all people from the four corners of the earth (Rev. 5:9). The three entrances in the veil indicate that the Triune God Himself is the entrance for His redeemed people to enter not only His dwelling place but also Himself."

May we hold fast to the unique New Testament ministry and be thoroughly constituted with it, so that we would become pillars in the Triune God and entrances through whom others may be reconciled to Him and brought into the enjoyment of God Himself.

Blessing, and honor, and glory be Thine!

Hymn 241 - Blessing, and honor, and glory be Thine both now and evermore!

Appreciated this hymn that is based on Revelation 5:12-13 so much more! The blessing, honor, and glory are for the Lamb, not on the cross but standing before the throne at the center of the universe and receiving a universal commission!! Our praises shouldn't be merely for Christ' redemption but to see that the Lamb is accomplishing a work of eternally vast dimensions today!

How have your praise been uplifted in these days??

Look away from the manger to the throne! (The Heavenly Ministry of Christ)

Was really helped to see the importance of Christ’ heavenly ministry through the ministry of Witness Lee. Although the Lord Jesus had a fruitful life living on the earth and we should not neglect His earthly ministry, it only lasted for a limited time — 33 and a half years, and it was a means to usher Him into His heavenly ministry, which is eternal and will never end! We should advance from just paying attention to His living on the earth to seeing what He is doing currently in the heavens!! Look away from the manger and the carpenter’s home and see Christ on the throne in the heavens! He is the same Christ, but our enjoyment of Him differs according to our knowledge, appreciation and experience of His different aspects. If our appreciation of Him is linked to the throne, this will uplift our experience of Him in our spirit! (The Heavenly Ministry of Christ).

Practice speaking spiritual facts!

"And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death." (Revelation 12:11) Recovery Version

So thankful that the Lord has not only given us the blood to protect us but also the word of testimony for us to defeat Satan! Whenever we sense any accusations from Satan, we should practice to boldly declare Christ' victory and testify to Satan that the Lord has already dealt with him!! This word of our testimony gives Satan the greatest fear!!

Feel free to share below any spiritual facts that we can practice declaring, for example, "Jesus is Lord"! "Satan is defeated"! "The Lord is King"!!

I really appreciate the recovery version Bible especially with its footnotes because it has helped me so much in my understanding of the Word and getting into riches of it... but sometimes I find myself being lost in the footnotes and just using my mind to try and understand the Word instead of really getting supplied and receiving life.

Anyone have tips on how to balance this?
