Bilateral Avascular Necrosis
Cheers yall.
I was diagnosed with bilateral AVN 19 years ago now. Ive had my right hip surgery (total hip replacement surgery) — 3 months after having a c-section @ 25 years old.
—i was in excruciating pain 24/7 for 3 hears before i finally had the surgery. I wasnt sure how i would feel after surgery considering none of the doctors i had seen in that time was willing to help figure out a solution. The day i fell down due to my hip giving out i was carrying my 3 month old daughter & it just broke. Went to the hospital, transfered to a bigger hospital, then sent home for 4 days until the specialist was able to perform the surgery. Rit was supposed to take about 4 hours, but i had pieces and chunks of bone that had broken they had to take out so time doubled. Waking up i was in a LOT of pain, but a few hours of twerking the meds i got some relief. It took me about a week before i was walking pain free, but the surgery worked!! After years of day dreaming about before AVN, i was pain free in my right hip!
Unfortunately, since i was diagnosed with bilateral AVN that was only half the issue. 13 years post op, im now waiting on the 2nd total hip replacement. This time - the hip pain is worse.... hopefully ill be able to have surgery soon & get back to my normal lifem
