Just thinking ahead since I am going through this with my mac studio now. With mac studios I can turn in my old unit for a new one and Apple gives you a good deal on the hardware. But how will that work with our rtx pro 6000s? There doesn't seem to be a safe and easy option like Apple. So would that mean we'll have to sell on ebay ourselves? I don't feel great about selling something so expensive on Facebook marketplace or ebay where they can charge back on me. So what are we supposed to do when vera Ruben rtx pro 6000 comes out and we want to upgrade?

I need to pick a motherboard for my 4x rtx pro 6000 and I'd like to hear which motherboard you picked and why?

I have 2 rtx pro 6000's and am debating if I should add another one since the latest flash model from deep seek was too big to fit on 2 gpus and I think we will see larger flash models going forward.

Does it make sense to run with 3 rtx pro 6000s or is it a waste until I get to 4? I know tensor parallelism works better with 2,4,8 gpus. But I'm not sure how much a liability that would be.

Curious what you think of this model and how it compares to dsfv4.

Also do you think we will get this to run on 2 rtx pro 6000's?

I see a lot of people have tried Qwen 3.8 27b using different quants but it's hard to find examples of people using it at full bf16 because of how much vram it takes up. I'm wondering if the full size solves some of the problems the lower quants face like thinking issues.

If you've tried qwen 3.8 bf16 how does it compare to deep seek 4 flash?

I have 2 rtx pro 6000 max qs in a non threadripper computer with only 64gb of ram. This has been fine for a lot of what I do but it's not ideal for video generation.

I'm reluctant to buy more ram even though it's the clear weakness of my computer because I think prices will eventually go down a lot, though it might take 3 years. Gpus I don't mind buying now because prices aren't going down anytime soon or could even be worth more later on.

So what are you all doing? I could sell a 5090 and then buy a bunch of ram, but I would hate to do that.

I always backed up my computers with UPS before but now that my computer is creeping up in power I'm being forced into even more expensive UPS than I was expecting. The 2000w UPS is very expensive. Just curious what everyone else is doing. Are you plugging into the wall with surge protection or are you backing up your computers with UPS?

Is it worth getting a 2nd 6000? I want to be able to run deep seek flash and see that I can run it on 1 card but I haven't seen much discussion on how performance is 1 card vs 2.

I bought an N5 Air and installed the ram on the underside of the pull out trey, but on the top of the trey where the ssd's go there are three screws holding a fan that you need to remove to access the slots.

I could only remove 2 of the screws but I can't get the last one to catch no matter what I do. Yes I have a professional screw driver kit with many sizes but still can't remove that last screw.

I returned it and got a new unit thinking it was just defective, but on the new unit I can only unscrew 1 of the three. I checked reports and I found a report from a couple years ago with the same problem but a different unit.

Can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to do here? I hate the idea of not being able to get the nas because of a simple screw but there is no way for me to install ssd.

I know the N5 Pro Nas has a known issue with the JMB585 SATA controller which can lead to corrupted data, but what about the N5 Air?

It has a different generation cpu which is supposed to help, but does it still have the defective JMB585 SATA controller or something else?
