Hey everyone, I’m from Orangeville and I’ve been working on a project I wanted to share with the community.
After graduating two years ago and spending way too long applying to jobs with very little luck, I got frustrated enough to actually try and do something about it. I’m building a platform called NEXGN where instead of sending a resume you record a short video so recruiters can actually see who you are. Especially for jobs in marketing, sales, PR, anything where personality matters more than a bullet point list on a page.
Still really early and honestly just figuring it out as I go but I’d love to know if this is something people around here would actually use. Whether you’re job hunting, hiring locally or just curious I’d love the support.

Graduated two years ago from Uni and I’m still not working in my field. Hundreds of applications sent in the GTA and the silence is honestly demoralizing. You start questioning everything, your degree, your experience, yourself.
The thing that gets me is I know I’m good at what I do. But a resume doesn’t show that. Especially in fields like marketing, PR, content, sales where how you communicate is literally the skill. A PDF just can’t capture it.
So I started building something. Nothing fancy yet, just an idea I’m testing out. A platform where instead of submitting a resume you record a short video. Let recruiters actually see you instead of skimming a document for keywords.
Probably naive but it feels like it could actually help people like us.
