I’m looking for any possible information on a Frank Lincoln Sharon. Born March 10, 1916 with a twin brother Frederick Crawford Sharon. He was born to another Frank Lincoln Sharon (Was never mentioned as a Jr) and an Isabelle (a) Crawford. He was KIA in Italy on November 22, 1943.
Possibilities:
- Possible wife named Irene
- Possible children?
- Sharon is spelled two different ways (Sharon & Sharron), changed throughout diff documents
I haven’t been able to find his birth certificate, only one news paper article about twins being born. He was located in Stratford, Lordship, and Bridgeport, CT. He also has his name on a monument in Lordship, CT.
Also, apparently there is an article about him saving a little girl in Italy, but can’t seem to find that either.
I’ve already requested his military documents from the government so TBD on that.
Alright, I know this sounds ominous, but in truth it is. I’ve attempted to get in contact with my grandfather about this, but seeing as he isn’t very present in my life, i’m starting here. So please no “ask your relatives”! I’ve tried I promise! I believe it’s a bit sensitive as well so I don’t want to push. Heres the story:
My great grandfather who I believe is named Arthur DeFrancisco, left my great grandmother when my grandfather was about 2-4 years old. I don’t know much about him other than he was born in New York in July 1926 and for some reason, listed his last name as “Moakley” on his S.S. card. If you asked me where Moakley came from, I have NO clue.
I’ve also heard family rumors that when he left, he went to California (His death record also confirms this) and started a new family(who is this family? no idea). One of his brothers (My grandfathers uncle) reached out to my grandfather when he died, but that letter got lost so I can’t get any information from it.
I’m wondering, why did he leave? Was there something he was running from? Where is the divorce record? Who were his parents?
Overall, I’m just very confused on why this happened, I know that’d be hard to find out, but I’m still curious. Also, why can I not find his marriage records? Like who was he hiding from when he changed his last name?
It’s all very confusing for me as I cannot ask my grandfather as I said before. Is there anyone that’s interested in this that can help me solve the “case”? LOL.
(Also be forewarned, there is an ABUNDANCE of Arthur DeFrancisco’s. They were very serious about the first-born son name rule.)
I am looking for the record of William Turbert and/or Mary McHugh. I have found birth records in Ireland for their children, but cannot find anything about them. I've used up all my resources, so I'm a bit stuck. Should be born sometime in the 1800s, not the William born in 1865, that is their son. Thanks in advance!
