I am a VAWA survivor, but not everyone appreciates my journey so far

 

This is the only place where people have heard me out and supported me throughout my VAWA journey

I have a specific and niche inquiry/ies:

1. Can one join ANG or any branch with only I-360 approval, while I-485 is still pending?

2. OR, has anyone enlisted in any branch through VAWA route?

I want to join ANG on the side for a score of reasons and benefits as mentioned in my previous post at point 3.

I am about to write a recruiter and I could use any guidance/insight before I do so

Yes, I can look into civilian positions for now

Yes, my state (Illinois) at least on paper allows joining the local PD with just work permit but in my experience 1. that is only on paper and 2. even if allowed, does not necessarily give me all the benefits that ANG provides
